Thinking of breaking Coventry's 194*....FORGET IT !!!

Post by Dr_Situ(ZimFanatic) »

http://stats.cricinfo.com/ci/content/re ... 16972.html

Zimbabwean Charles Coventry is on top of the highest ever individual score in ODI's. Pakistani fans jinx indeed left him on 194 but he remained unbeaten and hence surpassed Saeed Anwar.

I thought of creating this thread when Hamilton Masakadza was going berserk against Kenya. But as i was driving on highway so couldnot created this thread that day.

I beleive, whether ODI's are scrapped to 40 overs or not, whether Tendulkar, Ponting gets mad or not but this record will remain Zimbabwe's for eternity.

Lets add all the potential threats in this thread.

Coventry's record in danger?

18th Oct 2009

Hamilton Masakadza surpassed Wishart's 172* but only managed 178*

Nice picture showing Covy congratulating him on great knock

Nobody does solos better than Sachin Tendulkar,[with the possible exception of Andy Flower] nor, perhaps, has anyone endured as much heartbreak during those solos.Sachin Tendulkar fell awfully close to pulling off an incredible chase of 351 against aussies yesterday on his own by smashing 175. He indeed pushed Wishart to No.16 of all time highest but 194* was still soooooooooooooooooooooo far

Sehwag went berserk scoring 146 in team total of 414 today at Rajkot. However, SL are batting valiantly and T Dilshan is unbeaten on 132 with 20 overs left. Hope he gets out soon.

I thought Dilshan had a better chance among the two, being the more organized player, and with more responsibility on him at that stage, but what do you know? this thread is working like a charm to make sure Coventry's record is well in tact :)
