The pinnacle of cricket being test cricket I think both players you mentioned played wonderfully but I think Adam Huckle also deserves a place on that lineup. Here is a head to head.
Player Mat Wkts BBI BBM Avg. Econ
R. Price 18 69 6/73 10/161 35.86 2.89
P. Strang 24 70 8/109 10/158 36.02 2.64
A. Huckle 8 25 6/109 11/255 34.88 3.33
From figures like that you could almost flip a coin, man. These man were all good. But I think Paul Strang would have been there greater asset as he was handy with the bat as well.

I think Adam Huckle could have been the best had he had a longer international career.

No doubt Adam Huckle only played one season but he had such an impact on the side. I wonder why he never continued playing.

Well, if you look at the SR - Huckle is ahead of the other two with a wkt every 62 balls as opposed to 74 balls for Pice and 81 for Strang but I have to agree with tawac - Strang was at least a little handy with the bat and a very good fileder too. Also, and I don't have much 1st hand knowledge of Huckle but Strang had a rasonable variety of balls (more than Price I'd say) - as well as being consistent in ODIs as well.
Another spinning allrounder who was pretty good, mainly in ODIs, was Murphy where he occasionally bowled brilliantly (and where Huckle's figures are horrible and my gut-feeling is Price has lots more BD and Kenyan wkts) - but in tests he never really performed.

I believe he retired to due to the fact he was not offered a particularly great contract and that he wanted to help his family farming business in Matabeleland. He now lives in the UK. I think the family farm was confiscated.
