Zimbabwe to return to tests in 2010

his year India played just six Tests and are scheduled to play seven in 2010 (not including the proposed two matches against South Africa). That figure could be trimmed to five as the two Tests against Zimbabwe are yet to be finalised.

Is this a hint that we may be back sooner that expected?

I had exactly the same thoughts. This is the pending FTP series they are talking about. You never know, in the greed and desperation of retaining the No. 1 tag, India might as well push Zimbabwe back into full member fold, and "help" their readmission. I am not complaining as long as Zim starts playing tests again :)

Soory guys there is no chance of zimbabwe to coming in test cricket .BCCI save zimbabwe full member status, but don't want to play with them.first thing zimbabwe ranking is very low and there are no quality cricket.need some good bowlers and batsman.

Sorry Jamthala, but you're wrong  I cant believe that you've just said that about the Zimbabwean Cricket Union. After all the hard work that has been put into place over the past 18 months or so, and the young players that have blossomed (Jarvis, Coventry, Chigumbura, Mutizwa, Lamb etc) you're saying the 1 we have not quality players, and 2 that we have a very low test ranking ! Well sorry sir but what do you expect, we've been out of the test arena for the past 4 years! We've got some serious talent in out squads and domestic structres, and our Under 19's are an ever improving unit. We have Brendon Taylor, Sean Williams, Tatenda Taibu, Foster Mutizwa, Mark Vermuelan, Stuart Matsikinyeri as batsmen that would fit perfectly into out test team. And with our bowling we have a more solid base for pace bowing lead my Chigumbura, Keegan Meth, Shingari Mazakadza, Trevor Garwe, Edward Rainsford and speed senation Kyle Jarvis. Each player that i've mentioned there are physically fit and are superb in the field, wether its at 1st slip oir at backward point. I even failed to mention our spinners. Cremer, Price Utsea, Maruma Lamb etc. The list is endless. So before you come out with ridiculous comments like that, think about it, becaise its nothing much crap !

Zimbabwe tour india to play some matches in duleep trophy etc.zim team beaten by indian youth team.

In year 2000 and 2002 zimbabwe when tour india they put a tough fight.
As sloandog tell about somd players.i know then, they all need experience of lot of first class matches.
Now zim domestic structure looking good.
And zim have play well in all matches.
People should think from mind not from heart.

Jamthala you seem to forget India was once rubbish. Oh, yes, I recall them being bowled out for 170 in Harare in 1998.

To be fair both Jamthala and sloandog make good points

i agree with Jamthala that it may be a little to soon to take India on in tests (perhaps start with Bangladesh, New Zealand or the West Indies) but Sloandog is right when he says that we have the talant and the future is looking very exciting at the moment.

I would prefer if we made out test comeback in 2012 under the new FTP when our players would of had three seasons of full first class cricket under there belts and would be 100% ready. But on the other hand i dont think we would be able to justidy full member funding if we were out of tests for three more years.

I think that its likely that we will be playing tests again at the end of next year. But no need to get angry guys, theres nothing wrong with having differing opinions, lets just not make it personal :)
