Hilton Cartwright to make Test Debut for Australia

Post by jaybro »

Confirmed Hilton Cartwright will debut in the 3rd Test for Australia against Pakistan @ the SCG ....

Congratulations to Hilton I know a lot of people here in OZ are saying "Hilton who ?" But the same was said about Steve Waugh and Shane Warne when they debuted. He's been given a chance and it's up to him whether he takes it or not ......

Sure beats making your debut against Bangladesh in front of 15 people at Harare Sports Club .....

I knew I was right about him when I first brought his ability to the attention of ZCF.

Wow. First Colin de Grandhomme and now Cartwright. Looks like the guys who've left Zimbabwe really had a lot of talent. Throw in Ballance as well. Thats impressive.

Zimbabwe has always produced talent. And the double tragedy is firstly, they are not performing on the world stage & secondly, they are performing for an adopted country.
If only their administration wasn't such a bunch of self serving thieving bastards.

Question;
Have we seen any black Zimbabwean leave and perform on the world stage?
It's always our white expats that kick on. Why?

In all fairness these guys like Cartwright, Ballance and DeGrandhomme would have improved their skills by being in the systems that Australia, England and NZ have. Even though Ballance and DeGrandhomme played in Zimbabwe up to under 19's I think them being in their new homelands domestic setups have improved them as players .....

How good would have these guys have been if they had stayed in Zimbabwe ??

How good could have BRMT or Willy been if they moved to England when they were 19?
