Mpofu should just swing the bat. He's not going to be able to stick around long anyway, so he might as well add a flukey 10 or 15 before he does inevitably depart.

This is pissing me off.Things a muddled up batting order can do.Allowing moor to come in the mid overs with spin from both ends, would be invaluable, rather than wasting him at the top.Its being prove time and again that he is best suited batting in the middle order.

He was there until the 15th over. He had a start and survived until the middle overs, he just blew it.

I like this Zim team:

1. Mire
2. Masakadza - Why he not opening. Tell him to open and give him free license.
3. Reza Always done well against Afghanistan
4. Williamson best Zim batter imo.
5. Burl looks very good. Ask him to be more aggressive. He looks very good to me.
6. Moor WK. He is not doing well opening.
7. Chigambura/Waller
8. Creamer
9. Chatara
10. MPofu
11. Ngarava

I am sure there are other bowling options as well.

Reza and Williamson are two best Zim batters and they contribute with very good spin bowling as well. Reza is very good fielder as well.

Well that's got to be a trivia question.

First ball faced in international cricket:
39.6 Mohammad Nabi to Ngarava, SIX

I agree. Should not be at the top.

Lost 6 wickets for 29 runs... Awful

Its not about just surviving or weathering the storm though, which is the bare expectation we have of him at this stage, everytime he opens. It was obvious that he mainly built up his reputation as a batsman on the strength of his knocks coming in at no7,be it either in white or red ball cricket or for the A side.Let the team utilise his strengths to help us win games.

That was a great knock from Mire which was a perfect opportunity for PJ to get himself in. PJ failed badly today.

Yes to axing Waller but Chigumbura is more of the same. Along with Masakadza, Musakanda and Moor , they are so out of form. Badly missed Raza and Williams, who probably would have got us home today. At least the bowling has been good.

Next game:

Mire
Masakadza (he gets the remaining 3 ODIs to score runs otherwise dropped)
Ervine
Raza
Burl (twice now 30 and out which is worrying, but in form)
Musakanda (or Williams if fit)
Moor
Cremer
Chatara
Mpofu / Spinner (maybe N Waller at 7 to strengthen the batting)
Ngarava

i have said it before, i will say it again this lets bring
hamilton, williams, waller bacck is killing our cricket
those guys are done they are not good enough. You dont
need a better start than that provided by mire and moor
at the top mostly mire. hami and ervines job were as
simple bat till the 30th over, we had a healthy run rate
then. burl and craig sold us out they wer batting comfortable
out there but its just burls second odi so he will learn
with time his job was to take most of the strike and
play the singles looked like he knew he was the last true
batsman left. i suggest we open with burl and mire then
drop moor to 5 tari 4 hami out malcolm out bring in
nathan waller at 7
