25 and 26. Here's a simple one. Two points at stake in one go. Who are the top 3 wicket takers and top 3 run getters for Zimbabwe in the ICC Trophy, the tournament which was being played to choose qualifier teams for the World Cup from outside the full members? Remember Zimbabwe had to qualify like this in the initial few World Cups...

I am going to have a crack -

Brandes
Traicos
Rawson

for the wicket takers and

Houghton
Pycroft
Paterson

for the run scorers.

Any half points on offer to get me off the mark? ;)

You won't need any half points because you are getting the whole 2 for getting both of them correct!

Brandes: 34 wickets
Traicos: 33 wickets
Rawson: 32 wickets

Houghton: 575 runs
Pycroft: 552 runs
Paterson: 455 runs

Puts Brandes' interview from last week in perspective. Clearly, we lost the best years of at least 4 out of these 6 even before we got the test status.

CrimsonAvenger : 7.5
foreignfield : 7
cricket_22001 : 5.5
rusty17, Jemisi : 2
MidWest Rhinos, eugene : 1

I think foreignfield didn't add 24. on.

Ooops, yes, I forgot. Thanks, mate. We don't want to lose any of cricket_22001's points again like we did over in the photo quiz.

I am not 100% sure of the answer to the next question. As I want this thread to increase my stats awareness I am going to introduce a new idea.

If you can prove the questioner wrong on a Stat you can get a 3 point reward. So here goes for the next one,

27. The best bowling figures in a Test innings by a Zimbabwean are 8-109 by Paul Strang against New Zealand. What are the best innings figures by a Rhodesian/Zimbabwean (according to my definition) in First Class cricket? Half points are available on this one too.

If my records are correct, this is one if those stats where we get our jollies off. Why? Because it is shared.
Firstly, Stephen Peall took 9-76 for the Zimbabwe Board XI against Boland B in the FC UCB Bowl in 1995/96. Then in 1997/98, John Rennie took 9-76 for Matabeleland against Mashonaland A in the Logan Cup.
What's the chances,eh?

Correct - both half points gained in one fell swoop. 9-76 are the best figures I of which I am aware.

What raises the eyebrow about this one is that John Rennie did not manage 10 wickets in the match! So he currently has the best innings figures with a blank in the 10wm column.

Maybe Mashona A were playing more carefully against him in the second dig but he had 15 wicket less overs for 43 runs.

Yeah, he had a shot at it.

A more obscure question next.

28. What dubious stat do Regis Chakabva and Natsai Mushangwe both have on their records?

Might require some guessing. Willing to provide clues along the way.
