Well this is driving me insane. I have stared at that score card multiple times whenever I got time (which has been very less) over the last few days, but finding nothing "dubious" or interesting. Would be interesting to see the final answer when someone finally figures out...

I don't want to see any keen statisticians institutionalized, so here is another clue.

They really needed each other to set this record for Zimbabwe

I'm none the wiser, but they had two partnerships in the two Tests M'shangwe played, both for 0 runs (M'shagwe dismissed for a duck on both occasions). I have no idea if that is a record in any way -- especially considering that your clues seemed to point to one match, Jemisi.

Were they the first players to use and lose a review in tests for Zim? Regis as a batsman and Mshangwe as a bowler...

Interesting thought, but wouldn't the review by the bowling side involve the captain rather than the bowler?

Torture over! That is close enough. There have been plenty of batting partnerships that are yet to produce a single run. Mushangwe and Regis are the only Zimbabwean pairing to bat together twice and produce zero partnership runs. They set the dubious record in the second test. I came upon it after reading a very enjoyable cricinfo article on last wicket partnerships.

29. Which unlikely world record once belonged to Brendan Taylor?
