Not surprising, this madness. I know the kind of people who have worked on this "revamp". You can't expect much from those not so well qualified professionals.
This rumour of Cricbuzz having bought Cricinfo from ESPN is doing the rounds for a while, but no progress there. Cricinfo's bigest USP is the (sometimes exclusive) rights it has over player / match data and statistics.
You might have also noticed Google search results show Cricbuzz profiles as the top result for quite a few player searches these days, compared to the usual sight of seeing the Cricinfo pages on top. Google is known to penalize pages that take long time to load fully, and that's the reason for that. So much for their claim that their latest revamp is to improve the responsiveness!
Lack of competition and substandard personnel made them complacent. Sad.
