Heroes Cup T20

Post by Flakeman »

The top 4 sides from 2016 season played the semi finals of the Heroes Cup T20 today, with most Franchise boys from Eagles and Mountaineers in action. Uprising played Old Hararians and Rainbow then played Takashinga 1.
All games were at Takashinga

Uprising batted 1st and struggled to get anywhere with Brandon Diplock taking 3/12 in 4 overs. Talent Munyoro also did a good job despite not getting any wickets. Tatenda Chikuni bowled well too taking 2 wickets despite being a bit more expensive. Dylan Hondo was a Lone Ranger in the fight despite only managing to be the only one to get over 20. Uprising were blown away for a paltry 79 runs.

OH chased the score with only 1 wicket down with Saad Khan and Prince Masvaure unbeaten.

I spoke to Saad Khan and he said he was greatly happy with how the day had gone.

Rainbow then opted to bat 1st against a typically strong Takashinga 1 side. Bright Njanje and Simba Gupo got off to a great start and both got quick fire fifties as they blew Cuthbert Musoko, Tanya Munyaradzi, Shingi Masakadza and Roy Kaia away. Posting 188.

Rainbow didn't stop there as Brighton Zhawi took 3/11 after 3 overs. This hastened Takashinga and only Forster Mutizwa was able to put on a decent score of 42 as they folded for 106.

The final is tomorrow with Old Hararians taking on Rainbow.
