Okay, let me put something across to you guys. If you were given the option by Alistair Campbell and the selction comittee to pick a side with none of the regular players available, what would your team be.
My team would be the following:
1. Mark Vermuelan
2. Terrance Duffin
Captain
3. Foster Mutizwa
Wicketkeeper
4. Craig Ervine
5. Chamu Chibahba
6. Andy Blignaut
7. Dougie Marrilliar
8. Timcen Maruma
9. Gavin Ewing
10. Keegan Meth
11. Admire Manyumwa
12th man: Greg Strydom
Other members of the aquad:
Tendai Chitara, Malcolm Waller, Gerald Aleseni and Ryan Butterworth.
Now that would be my squad, but i'm sure you guys would make a change or 2
What would your squad of players be ??

If things had gone well with countries like NZ fulfilling future tours then it would mean we can have the A side playing again . Prhaps in the Intercontinental cup or against other A sides . This would sharpen this team and mean selection net would be wider

Ahem. For this thread, your selection should not include anyone who was in the West Indies.

Great idea Sloandog, must congratulate you for that. The persistence with same oldies without using cerebral cortex drained out the interest from me so this thread looks refreshing indeed.
Here's my eleven:
1. Mark Vermuelan
2. Chamu Chibahba
3. Foster Mutizwa (wk)
4. Malcolm Waller
5. D Ebrahim
6. Andy Blignaut (C)
7. Dougie Marrilliar
8. Greg Strydom
9. Gavin Ewing
10. Keegan Meth
11. Edward Rainsford
12th man: Tawanda Mupariwa
The experienced fabulous five are back for me- Vermulen, Ebrahim, Marillier, Ewing and Blignaut taking the maximum responsibility in the form of captain. Waller looks like king Viv to me after watching the wretched, painful batting of Lamb, so he is in. Mutizwa at no.3 to step up the tempo which will be taken care of later by Bliggi, Marillier and Strydom. I always like Rainsford and Mupariwa so they are also in my eleven.
