Ido think 5 is way too many first class teams here, I've said forever that the depth is too diluted and low team scores are always a reflection of this.

I'll say it again and again, you notice it when the international team is on !!

The stars is good but they should have been worked into the current structure. There's only about 6 stars we give a shit about and bad team selection is the only thing keeping them out of the 4 team structure.

Not true. The message needs to be that there are pathways into cricket here
Message to who? Nkosana Mpofu? That there's a pathway out of cricket in Zimbabwe?

And when these boys go back to what they were doing for the next season or year, what then? More ZIM players shed from the game each season?

There is a reason the Rocks were culled from Zimbabwe cricket. I shared the article. Did anyone bother to read it and try to reason on that and the RS?

So you're admitting Taibu and the Pakistani - under the new centralised cricket structure with no more franchises - actually couldn't force team bosses to integrate these "6 Stars", they had to create an entire team? The only thing they managed was to drive Aliseni, Panyangara and whoever else away?

I'll cut you some slack because you weren't here st the time and may not have been reading, but I have been. One of a champion on that issue than you have been!

5 teams - injuries/zim 11 is madness.

Even if you take the Manchester United academy team. Not EVERYBODY in an academy team is good enough to make the grade. That's in every sport. You usually get 4 or 5 guys who are actually good enough. Its just unfortunate that at the moment these guys are the first batch so all of them have to be thrown into the deep end.

I hope the logic is to keep 4 or 5 of these guys for next year's academy and move on from there with 3 or 4 guys from the u19s plus a few guys who have decided to go to uni like Murray. After 3 or 4 years you will have a competitive team and maybe give guys a maximum of 3 seasons before you have to join a proper franchise. Otherwise for now we have to deal with the like of Jha averaging less than 10

It is way to early to be casting judgement on the Rising Stars project.

That's good news. And I'd also be looking forward to what would most likely be a debut for Rugare Magarira, now that Mavuta is away. He seemed to have great control for a youngster in the U19 world cup itself. Would be good if he gets regular games and gets to challenge Chisoro and Wellington in the years to come.

Could Rugare be the next Ray Price ??
