At the moment I would say

Jarvis

Are guaranteed spots but the other 7/8 guys have to genuinely fight for a place in the squad
Based on?
On the fact that he's take 243 FC wickets at an average of 26, not to mention he's the best seamer in the country, or the fact that he thrived in division 1 country cricket..
Not even Steyn, Philander and Morkel can walk into the Proteas.

Jarvis just got outbowled at lanchashire by Ryan McLaren the Proteas reject who averages 54 in Tests.

Surely he must play a couple of Logan Cup games plus a couple of A games before he can just walk into the Tests side? :?

Didn't Morkel have to do the same? Weren't Steyn and Philander picked to play for South Africa A? Actually franchises first to prove fitness, before the A team to prove international fitness.

This is Zimbabwe not South Africa I don’t know why you keep comparing the two

As predicted, Mayavo missing from rhinos...in camp already
Wow I guess the selectors have had enough of Regis & Moor missing chances ??

Do you know who else is in the camp? Is it the Test side or the A side or both ??
A mixture of both

Why would Mayavo leapfrog Mutumbami and Mutizwa?

Reportedly the best ‘keeper’ in the country

Many forumers here advocate for bowlers who can bat a bit. The selectors even persist with their 8-3. The very list would apply to a wicket keeper.

Yeah we can’t afford to have a keeper bat at 9 or 10, young Nyasha Mayavo needs to improve his batting

Still Regis for me at this stage

The big omissions for me are Tiripano, Wellington & M’shangwe

Don has been a regular in the side for well over a year but maybe Streak wants someone more attacking

The fact Wellington & Natsai aren’t in the camp but Chisoro is looks a bit rough to me.

Huh? Thought nothing is confirmed yet and we are just speculating. With Wellington one would understand, the kid should be making a comeback from injury. But Mushangwe should be in and amongst the squad at the very list making the A side.
