Unless Mayavo has hands like Healy or Read he should be nowhere near a debut. His batting is crap.

+1. This is the most insane development with Zim Cricket in recent times. Handing test debut to someone who was nowhere near even representational sides? Instead, they should have splurged money and got Murray to discontinue whatever career he is building outside cricket if they were so desperate.

Or get Taylor to keep and play at 5 if they can't trust any of Regis, Richie or Forster.

I would have just gone with Richie for this series.

Let’s just wait and see who they pick before we get too carried away

If Cricinfo is accurate and Mutumbami is keeping in this warm up over Mayavo you would have to assume the whole Mayavo rumour is fake news.

I’m still going off the eleven players who were in camp that weren’t in the A team isnthe side which would mean Regis is the keeper which makes more sense.

Zimfan1 usually has solid mail but if he’s just going off that article then Im not concerned, the writer couldn’t even work out that Zim has already had 7 Keepers lol

Nowhere near as insane as the amount of Iver's Williams bowled in the SL Test.

If ZC feel that dropped catches were part of the cause for ZIM losing that match, and they genuinely feel none of Moor Regis Mumumbami Taylor and Mutizwa are a solution then they can justify it.

It's not as horrific as watching so many overs of non-bowling at Test level.

Good to see Chisoro back. Chatara might never play tests again at this rate. He doesn't seem to have full recovered. This probably means they will go with Mpofu and Jarvis and Cremer in that 8-3 setup of theirs. If they got with Chisoro-Cremer-Jarvis it will probably mean Chamu and Mire will open and bowl as well..
They might go with Mpofu , Jarvis, Tir
ipano & Cremer with Raza & Sean as part-time spinner..M Waller might be dropped useless Streak makes Raza & Hami to openers..

Lineup
Hami
Raza / Mire
Craig E
Talyor
Sean
Wk. Chakabva / Mutumbani/ Moor
Waller if Raza opens/ Raza / Mire
Tiripano
Jarvis
Cremer
C Mpofu

Raza needs to stay in the middle order, he did well there against Sri Lanka.

Looks like only Ngarava got dropped.. Mayavo is still in.. this is beyond ridiculous.. he must be one hell of a keeper..to me such decisions really let the trust in our domestic system down. What's the point of Mutumbami or Mutizwa even pitching up and playing if runs don't get you into the team?

Yeah, a 16 man final squad of:

Graeme Cremer (captain), Hamilton Masakadza, Solomon Mire, Chamu Chibhabha, Craig Ervine, Brendan Taylor, Raza, Williams, Malcolm Waller, PJ , Regis Chakabva, Mike Chinouya, Chris Mpofu, Kyle Jarvis, Tendai Chisoro, Nyasha Mayavo

Unbelievable that we have retained all of Chinouya, Chisoro and Mayavo. I could have as well picked and handed a cap to Mashinge instead. I'm now certain Chisoro will play. No Tiripano so Chinouya will also most likely play. And Mayavo. What a joke of an XI are we going to field come the first test?
