Just like Carlisle, Burl will realise that he's more suited to the top. Not lower than 3.
With other teams players are generally eased into the national team playing at 6 or 7. Examples being Elgar, Faf even Ervine. Why is it our senior batsman don't just step up and fill positions 1 to 5. Its sad to find the likes of Raza/Waller wallowing away at 7/8 with kids being made to face the music.

Burl
Chakabva(c)
Chari
Kasuza
Musakanda
Murray(wk)
Jongwe
Mashinge
Wellington
Chikomba
Mumba
RESERVES: Innocent Kaia, Mpofu, Mavuta, Ngarava[/b]

This isn't that bad a team. You would have thought that Kasuza and Chari would open though. Having played against them, there are 2 players that you are overrating here. Firstly Nkosana Mpofu. He clearly does have the temperament for opening, and thinks about his game, but he is simply a very limited player. Not much talent. Would be way out of his depth in internationals. Secondly, Chikomba. There is a reason that Mufudza gets picked for the Eagles ahead of him. He's accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. Anyway, with Wazakadza already in your team, you'd want an offie or a leggie.

Im sorry but this crap that senior batsman should move up to open and all young guys should bat at 6 is just crap

List of Middle order players that never opened

Steve Waugh
Mark Waugh
Allan Border
Ricky Ponting
Damien Martyn
Sourav Ganguly
Sachin Tendulker
Nasser Hussein
Jacques Kallis
Brian Lara
Mahela Jayawardene
Ross Taylor
Michael Clarke
Virat Kohli
Steve Smith
Kane Williamson

I could go on but I'm sure by now even the most stubborn members can see my point, just because a player is experienced or more established doesn't mean they should open the batting. Could you imagine Kohli or Smith opening the batting ?? No chance both players are happy @ 4

Opening the batting is a specialist position for a batsman with a sound technique against facing the new ball, any person who knows anything about cricket will know this that is why I questioned certain member's knowledge of the game when they say Ervine or Williams should open the batting in Tests.

I realise Zimbabwe will find it harder to find quality Test openers and in the past middle order players have been made to open but you don't make your best batsman open the batting just because he is the best batsman, if Australia wont make Smith open & India won't make Kohli why would Zimbabwe make Ervine or BT open.

Guys like Chari, Kasuza etc have been opening their whole careers in Logan Cup and some people here are saying they're not openers !!!!!

If you ask Hhm there are no Black openers in Zimbabwe cricket just middle order batsman forced to open and sacrifice themselves to save the privileged white guys.

This is where some classic Mawoyo-esque Zimbabwean grit is required. Grind out 80 from 200 balls.

If PJ ever scores such an innings in a Test match I'll change my username, promise. There's a better chance he'll score a Test double hundred off 150 balls.

Gabriel to Moor, OUT,
PJ Moor c Hetmyer b Gabriel 32 (34b 5x4 0x6) SR: 94.11

A near run a ball 32 proves nothing to anybody. If he'd Faf'd 32 off 150 or something, then you show the selectors you can play an important defensive role.
[/quote]

I would take 32 runs of 34 balls because at least u adding to the total unlike Chakabva 30 ball duck..
If PJ Moor is battling 7th and in need of more runs while he is partnering tailenders ...I think that's perfect...
A 30 ball duck by Chakabva is a disservice to the nation

Why was nathan Waller not bowled ? Surely this is a cookup ? He seriously needs to start using some of his talent , we need all rounders
We have 7 all rounders in the team u need another
Mire - all rounder
Hami - all rounder
Sean William - all rounder
Raza - all rounder
Chibhabha - all rounder
Cremer - all rounder
Malcolm Waller - all rounder
Only Talyor , Craig & Jarvis get in as non-all rounders

Vusi averages 17 in the middle order
Vusi averages 23 as an opener

Yet whats preventing Vusi from being a world class batsmen is that he's being forced to open. Poor guy, being forced to average 6 more than his true quality when he deserves to average a half dozen runs less.

Raza , Hamilton , chibabha and Waller are part timers a all rounder is someone equal with bat or ball if not very close in skill. Waller has the potential to be a 2nd change test bowler and a solid number 8 or 9 . Even Williams is not a " all rounder " cremer is becoming a very handy all rounder but the rest not so much. Considering chibabha can neither bat or bowl I guess you could say he's a genuine all rounder
The Zimbabwe Cricket team have found Ebola in one of their members, but they're not concerned because they have also found Ebatsmen and Efielda!

Getting back to the actual match pretty disappointing that none of the Zim A players stood up and did anything of note on this match.

Only Mike the Rhino did anything of any note taking 3 wickets, the frindge guys wasted their chances here
