Final Zimbabwe Test Squad for the Windies Tour
Re: Final Zimbabwe Test Squad for the Windies Tour
No Mark Olonga, Daniel Jakiel alright. Mumba & Tiripano should have been there. Wicket Keeper Batsman Natasai Mayavu should open with Regis Chibhabha

I find it difficult to believe Mawoyo isn't in the squad. Regardless of fitness tests or whatever, he apparently doesn't cut the mustard.
Sad!
Being selective with the stats, in tests he has faced more deliveries than Ervine in two less innings (1660 against 1647). Surely this represents the foundation on which the innings could be based. But against him is the strike rate, so he isn't rotating often enough. Didn't hurt Bill Lawry or Ian Redpath years ago.
We live in a different age.

Mumba is injured I believe, just had a knee op.

When you average 25 in the Logan Cup and have less LC centuries than Maruma and Mutumbami - because you open the batting, there is no way you're getting into the squad ahead of Malcolm who averages almost double your LC average.cricket_22001 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 5:51 amI find it difficult to believe Mawoyo isn't in the squad. When did he score a ton?Mr Twig wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 2:58 pmI can't see Waller missing out. He just scored a ton.
Looks like they really are going to play Mire. I have my doubts but hopefully he can prove me wrong.
Masakadza
Mire
Ervine
Taylor
Williams
Raza
Waller
Chakabva
Cremer
Jarvis
Mpofu
When was the last time Masakadza scored a Test century? PJ Moor?Hamilton Masakadza, Craig Ervine, Sean Williams, PJ Moor and Sikandar Raza have all recently scored Test centuries
From the list of 16 given to us by ZC the first eleven for the first Test looks pretty straightforward, like BRM's.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Tue Oct 17, 2017 11:34 am1 H Masakadza
2 Chibhabha
3 C Ervine
4 Taylor
5 Williams
6 Raza
7 Chakabva (wk)
8 M Waller
9 Cremer (c)
10 Jarvis
11 Mpofu
Some decent considerations raised over Chamu Chibhabha though. Still if we are going to play just two seamers then I guess Chamu overs will be needed.

This is totally unexpected. . But quite right too. And since, Panyangara is apparently overweight, you know...pariah wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 2:07 pmWhen you average 25 in the Logan Cup and have less LC centuries than Maruma and Mutumbami - because you open the batting, there is no way you're getting into the squad ahead of Malcolm who averages almost double your LC average.cricket_22001 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 18, 2017 5:51 amI find it difficult to believe Mawoyo isn't in the squad.
