The silence about the Panyangara issue was really was so loud its astounding to be honest. Because, strictly speaking, since nobody was saying he was injured there was no other plausible explanation as to why he was being left out.

Which brings into context the various debates and arguments among members about Panyangara's actual ability and value to the team. Its clear now that should never have been a debate; it was only defended by people who felt his his exclusion was merited statistically and on current form, without entertaining the possibility that something really was afoot. Aside that he should have been an automatic pick. Many seem to be agreeing with that notion now.

However as somebody who unquestioningly went with Steven Mangongo's decision to leave Sean Williams out of Bangladesh three years ago when he lied about a bereavement, I cannot fault current management if they felt that Panyagara's attitude was bad.

Ends.

No doubt Panyangara will now be condemned as an opportunist and mercenary who only used the Zimbabwean cricket system to gain a lucrative club contract in Australia.

The silence on that issue will be deafening.
If Jarvis is not significantly better after all the cricket he’s played compared to our lot I will be amazed. They play a lot of cricket in England and he will surely be a lot more consistent. He was always a wicket taker, but I’m sure he’s a lot more accomplished now.

Having watched the highlights of the first day's play, spoken like a prophet, Googly. :D

I agree, time to bring back Meth and get Waller bowling more, with a bit more work on his bowling he could become a genuine test allrounder like Sean Williams.

Shame, with such a Zim Cricket surname steeped in heritage too :(

Can't believe he's not been opening said bowling attack.
