Preparation for ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2018

Post by The Robot »

ICC World Cup Qualifiers to get started from March 2018. As per the rule, only two teams reaching the final of the Qualifiers will have the chance to qualify in ICC World Cup 2019 in England & Wales as 9th & 10th team.

As per the preparations are concerned, there is only one odi series slotted for Zimbabwe before the global event, its the tri series in Bangladesh between Bangladesh, Sri Lanka & Zimbabwe. There is also no schedule for the domestic Pro 50 One Day Tournament.
After 6 rounds of logan cup four day competition, associate t20 tournament to begin from 29th november and rest of the logan cup matches to resume after the t20 tournament. There is also no on A games. Zimbabwe will play two more test matches in between, with the boxing day test against South Africa and one off test against Afghanistan at the end of february 2018.

Is one odi series enough for Zimbabwe before the Qualifiers ?

More cricket, excellent news. Pressure game that! If we lose that would not look good at all. Rashid Khan is going to be a massive handful in test cricket, I don't care who you are.

Next fixture for Zimbabwe in odis is in february 2018. Needs more odi games and well prepared before the qualifiers starts.

Playing some short odi series against Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea or Scotland would be usefull.
