Moor definitely should play, the real question is whether he should keep wicket to make room for Williams, or should he play as a batsman alone and therefore let Regis keep. At the moment I am leaning towards the latter.
There is no way Regis is missing out after that match saving effort. Plus his keeping was much improved, especially in the first test. And he is in form domestically too. Moor can only realistically come in for Williams, or has to open (and he might do so, being the team man he is) if Williams has to be fitted into this line up at 5:

Hamilton
?
Taylor
Ervine
Moor
Raza
Regis
Cremer
Shingi / Mpofu / Tiripano
Jarvis
Chatara

By the way, that footwork-less upper middle order in combination with the pink ball, day-night aspect, and the SA attack firing on all cylinders to prepare themselves for the Indian series sends shivers down my spine. Hope it does not get ugly.

The only hope is that the SA team needs a proper workout in both the departments so they prepare a QSC / Nagpur / Galle type track to test / prepare themselves.

Having said that, Hamilton has gone on record saying that they would relish this challenge and have it in them to be very competitive against SA on this historic occasion, in his interview with Dean du Plessis.

Streak did'nt have the guts to play 4 bowlers against the 8th rank test side Windies, how can he be so brave playing 4 specialist bowlers against 2nd rank Proteas Side ? Shingi 's innings of 140 has gone so high that Steyn, Rabada, Morkel & Phillander are taken as Musoko, Garwe, Nathan Waller etc. :) Logan Cup & International Stage has got huge difference, totally coming out of excitement.

Going withyour lineup logic, it might be an idea to move BT to open, Craig to three, moor to 4 and willians to 5.

I agree. But that is another thing the management would not be willing to do, unfortunately. And Taylor might not be willing to as well. That's where Moor and Hamilton (and Raza?) score more points for me, they have proven to be the quintessential team men.

BT opening is an interesting idea. I think he would pull it off actually. I guess what we can all see here is that one of the guys is going to have to sacrifice themselves to open if Williams is to play. it can only be Raza, PJ or BT.

Raza has done it before so maybe he will put his hand up. he is in the form of his life as well.

BT probably has the best skill set to open against a hostile pace attack coming from the county circuit.

PJ would obviously put his hand up but it would honestly be unfair for the senior guys to make him open.

Mire can either play the best or worst innings of his life but his selection might be based off them going with that silly 8/3 line-up and only have 2 pace bowlers.

Mire is an interesting one, he could make a rapid half century or he could go cheaply. There are some bloody quick bowlers in Melbourne grade cricket, so he isn't completely new to facing genuine pace.

Hammy, BT, Ervine, Williams should just be playing in the top 4 with Raza, Moor and Chakabva coming in at 5,6,7. That way we can make room for both Williams and Moor in the side. BT should just step up and open because we really don't have any one to fill in the cap. Mire is very much a hit or miss type player which will invariably see number 3 and 4 coming in very early in the innings. This defeats the purpose of what ever coverage they may have playing at first drop. Only someone like Mawoyo can come in ahead of these guys and actually do a job of taking the shine off the ball.
