The Zimbabwe squad failed to travel to Bangladesh as per their original schedule and as of yesterday authorities were still running around to secure tickets for the trip.

By evening yesterday expectation was that the team would travel today although flight arrangements had not been finalised
Anyone with any update if the team has finally travelled.
Dhaka Tribune reported that Saturday's practice match is in doubt because the ZIM team which was scheduled to arrive today won't be arriving till Friday. The squad is also apparently arriving in 2 seperate batches. Not really sure whats going on.

I can understand people not being happy with Williams' batting form over the last 2 years but surely with BT keeping Williams is more deserving than Moor or Murray ???

Im pretty sure Ervine only has 2 50 plus scores in the last 2 years of ODI cricket as well so Williams isn't alone in being short of ODI runs. Alos must remember we haven't played much ODI cricket in the last 2 years and 2 of the series ( India & Afghanistan ) no one scored runs.

In our two most recent ODI series v Scotland & Sri Lanka Williams averaged the following

205 runs @ 29.3 with two fifties

7 wickets @ 41.7 with an economy of 5.3

Not the most outstanding returns but solid enough for Zimbabwe standards.

We are travelling today it seems: http://www.chronicle.co.zw/chevrons-defer-departure/

We can't afford to host others, we can't afford to travel in time when others host us. How are they planning to ensure the game survives? Non-qualification for the World Cup could very well indeed be the final nail in the coffin.

On another tour, missing a tour match because you can't show up on time would put ZIM at a significant disadvantage. They are lucky its BD and all the key players play almost as many games in Dhaka as they do at Harare or Bulawayo!

You can't really make that case when Murray has not been given a chance. We also can't say that, even though a player has performed badly for a long time we will still pick him because he is older than the other two guys.

It just shows a clear lack of a game plan or any pathways for blooding of youngsters in the team.

Unless Murray keeps you can’t pick him. The strongest team currently would be with BT keeping and with Williams batting and bowling, but Murray should be given a game up front to see how he goes.

There are supposedly pathways in place with new players being given franchise opportunities but there’s a big problem back here, can anyone shed any light as to the state of play here? Once again there’s a big problem.

To be honest this is the first time I have really questioned Streak and Taibu. As talented as he may be this doesn't make sense at all. He might shock us all with raw talent like Musakanda did.

Speaking of Tari, dropping him after how he played in Sri Lanka is ridiculous. The kid is averaging 29 after 9 games. Give him a run in the team. PJ is averaging 18 after 26 games but he is still in the team. If Murray is the backup keeper then what is PJ in the squad for exactly? Makes no sense at all. We now have too many middle order options. What happens if Hami gets injured?

If Tari is not in form domestically then why aren't they picking the guys who are in form like zhuwao or Mutombodzi.. crazy decision

The Ryan Murray pick just seems to be more an attempt to tie him down to Zimbabwe than anything else.

I anticipate they would do it to Eddie Byrom too if they could.
