2017 ZCF XI

Post by eugene »

With 2017 coming to an end, it is time for my annual tradition of announcing the ZCF XI. As always I employ the same strategies employed by ZC to select the lineup. This year marks the fifth time a ZCF XI has been announced. Previous years can be found here:

2012: http://www.zimcricketforums.com/viewtop ... 995#p46695
2013: http://www.zimcricketforums.com/viewtop ... ual#p60984
2014: http://www.zimcricketforums.com/viewtop ... ene#p71022
2015: http://www.zimcricketforums.com/viewtop ... ene#p89322
2016: http://www.zimcricketforums.com/viewtop ... cf#p100700

Without further ado, here is the 2017 ZCF XI:

1. pariah: 2017 is rumoured to be his final year in the ZCF XI as the selectors of grown weary of the poor performances with the bat. One option would be to move pariah down to the middle order but it seems easier to just drop him.
2. brmtaylor.com: Promoted to opener this season as he is the highest paid member of the team. No notable performances to speak of since 2015 however.
3. CrimsonAvenger: Promoted to three this year, which in this lineup is basically opening.
4. Jemisi: n/a
5. eugene: A mainstay of this team, likes to spend much of the game sledging pariah from the sidelines.
6. ZIMDOGGY: The DOGG is flourishing as the new keeper of the ZCF XI, now he has a new excuse as to why he fails to perform with the bat.
7. Andybligzz: A debutant in the ZCF XI, sadly he is nothing like his namesake. How long it will take the Bangladeshi admin to find out is the big question in ZCF cricket at the moment.
8. TapsC: Pariah's only friend in the team.
9. Googly: Still trundling in with the ball, all the while muttering constantly about the government and how the ZCF forum is dead.
10. jaybro: Returns to the side this season, still not sure what this guy does but success is 90% showing up I guess, even if most of the time he is showing up to KFC.
11. The Robot: Another debutant. Doesn't bat or bowl and prefers to field at what he refers to as silly mid-gully. Seemingly doesn't know any of his fellow team mates names.

Coach: maehara: returns as coach this year after the mysterious disappearance of anusha_gamage. Still threatens to drop Jemisi after every match.

Doctor: Dr_Situ (ZimFanatic): Dr_Situ's credentials have been confirmed as forgeries which only seems to have strengthened his role as team "doctor".

Administrator: Kriterion_BD: Lovingly referred to as the "Bangladeshi", Kriterion has seized control of the ZCF XI, much to the chagrin of the indigenous powers.

Changes from 2016:
STONEMAN: Got tired of yelling at everyone and retired.
Detective RDS: The brains of ZCF, his talents were not required in this very special team of 2017.
Mueddie28: Forgot to show up to team training one day and the selectors decide to make it permanent.
totoro: Is now playing club crickrt with Gerald Aliseni, Mark Olonga, and Daniel Jakiel.
Train Driver: Rumoured to be returning to the ZCF XI once pariah is finally sent into exile. His contributions with the bat are desperately needed.
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

"the Bangladeshi"...hahahahahahaha...yes that is apt.

Still won't reveal how much money I'm had to toss to BRMT and Jaybro...but thats why the ZCF has decided to cut back on home match threads for the forseeable future.

The Zimbabwe Cricket team have found Ebola in one of their members, but they're not concerned because they have also found Ebatsmen and Efielda!

I've heard rumours that Zimdoggy has fixed you up with a lucrative stint on a small cricket forum somewhere in Oz.
