Ok this has not been good to watch. From what little I’ve seen Shumba, Roache and Madhevere are ok. Myers is young and has batting potential. I’d like to have watched Dollar, but not to be, and Shardendorf was a bad ommission as he can play a bit, and can bowl. Roache has panicked with his bowling changes which is understandable but doesn’t give a spinner a chance to get his rhythm. The other blokes are completely out of their depth at this level.
Why is he bowling Myers again? FFS!!!

So you think Roache is England standard, like the next Mason Crane?

Not about standard, its about domination of snatching talents by English Cricket from Zimbabwe. Roche is talented, can do both bat & ball, English cricket always search such type of talents.

If ZC has other ideas in keeping this talents in the nation and groom for the future, it will be good for Zimbabwe

Interesting that Gill is being mentored by Dravid, that’s an interesting combo- The Wall with a dasher under his care. That’s what we sorely lack. Ed Byrom gets to bat with Trescothick, it can only help him massively.

England don’t look for talent abroad, what are you talking about? You can’t even get a visa to go and experience the shit weather.
All the top sides have an abundance of their own home grown talent.

They don't have to look neither they have to force, their infrastructure is enough to attract talents from Zimbabwe. Ed Byrom, Higgins, Welch, Lake, Ballance could have made national team bench strength strong enough, but all have been interested even in playing club level cricket or the 2nd XI counties.

Happy to see Roche mentioning about playing in ZRS Academy at the end of the game, previous talents like Ives, Lake, Snyder also said about staying and playing the game but they vanished.

Big difference can be found when these under 19 players from other sides will be drafted to their A sides and youths from Zimbabwe will be making headline either in leaving the game or moving away.

Players leave to go to school, university, work or to try and play regular cricket, they’re not being head hunted by ECB. Schools offer scholarships because that’s school policy to have an international flavour and the top schools have millions of pounds to play with. The boys that have gone there on scholarships have done well and have opened the door for others, unfortunately the next wave don’t have the talent that those original 5 have. We haven’t produced a stand out cricketer at u16 and above for about 4 years, but there’s a couple coming though now, unfortunately ZC are going to mess it up again, we produce so few and they’re like gold dust, you can’t make one in two years, if they needed proof of that then today should have shown them, I don’t think they will learn.

You’re missing the point a bit. Those guys developed their game over there. You keep a good player in our environment and the chances of him going to the next level are slim because our structures and coaching are not to standard. For example I’d be interested to see how good Sam Curran would have been if he’d stayed here. ZC have infinite capacity to negate any talent.

Reasons are plenty and have been pounded up now.

Mangongo lashed out at the poor structure in school cricket last evening, even he told the game is not properly distributed throughout the country among the youths, but still ZC has no motive to sort it out, even under new administration. Few days ahead some praise came about ZC improving their financial condition, but after hosting Windies for 2 tests, financial woos rose again, it seems they are busy in keeping the money right, then they will look for development. Quick development process should come out now, else it will be more bad for Zimbabwe as the seniors doing well are over 30s now and will be there just for 5 or 6 years more, youths needs to be motivated to step up.

Zimbabwe under 19 performing badly, don't think coaching staffs are responsible for it, its the system that making them less competative
