Well that's the end of that...we only have ourselves to blame to be honest. We should have chased that 216 down

Lets face it, the way we have played throughout this series doesn't warrant our entry into the final. Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, both against us and against each other, have played collectively better cricket.

We need to take out the positives though.

We've beaten Sri Lanka again in testing conditions.
Kyle Jarvis has been in decent form with the ball and appears to be a much more canny bowler than when he left, though his pace has dropped.
Muzarabani has shown he has something to work with and could be a future leader of the attack with some work on his run up to the crease.
Chatara seems to be back to his best, although he too has lost significant pace. Hopefully it can be cranked back up.
Murray indicated he has a safe pair of hands and certainly didn't look out of place, taking a good catch off Jarvis. Potential future keeper for sure.
Raza has shown he is now our best, most dependable, versatile cricketer and has continued his great form with both bat and ball.
Cremer has once again shown why he is our best bowler and only true world class option to turn to when looking for wickets. Captaincy could be a bit sharper but I think it's fait to say that, in spinning conditions, he's a real handful and a true class performer. Very dependable with the bat, too.
Mire has again shown he has the natural ability to clear the ropes and take on the opening attack, just needs to keep himself in check.
We still have another 5 ODI's to prep ourselves and be ready for the qualifiers. Yes we may have lost more games than we have won here, but we need to treat it as a means to and end in order to get the best combination, as well as giving our guys as much game time as possible to get into the form we know they are capable of.

The Negatives are still there, though.

Ervine's form is worrying and couldn't have come about at a worse time. I won't listen to people saying 'he's past his best' or 'he's no longer the player he was'. Slug is one of our few international quality batters and is simply going through a rough patch. This has only been amplified because we need him in form before March time. I guarantee he'll come good, all quality players do.
Our lack of ability in facing left arm spin is still blatantly obvious for all to see. Clueless springs to mind.
Waller and Moor (more Waller) seem to be in limbo as to what role they really need to fill. Moor for me has more natural ability than Waller and is obviously much younger, but neither have done well in this series. Williams to come back in at the expense of Waller, with Moor given another 5 ODI's to prove why he can be classed as such an exciting player.
Fielding has been below average, although there has been some moments of brilliance. Muzarabani has shown he can field for a big unit which has been encouraging to see. Raza as always has been the inspiration.
The form of our top order, including Taylor and Mazakadza needs to improve. We all know how good they are and what they can do on their day, but they need to bring that A game into the next series.
Selection has been questionable. I would have liked to have seen Mavuta given a game at the expense of one of the fast bowlers. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka both play at least two specialist spinners, I would have thought that might have been implemented by us at some stage in this series, especially with Chisoro there too.

Bottom line, for me, is to look at this series as a cobweb remover. Move forward, learn from the mistakes and remember the positives.

Would you keep Muzarabani in the XI if Vitori is back to his best?

Vitori is more valuable than Muzarabani. He's just as quick (at his best, quicker), can swing it both ways, offers the variation of being a left armer - and on top of that he's not walking wicket like BM.

Jarvis/Vitori is my ideal new ball combination, Chatara first change.

Good analysis. Assuming Mavuta warranted being on the bench in the first place they should definitely have given him a game. Raza was a part time spinner and just got better, as is Waller. To have gone there with two youngsters that they had no real intention of playing is strange. We needed a spare specialist spinner (had one and didn’t play him) and a spare specialist batsman (Burl/Musakanda). Maybe Mavuta was bowling a pile at practice and they decided not to try him?
In the back of my head I can’t help thinking Burl would have done a job opening.

Said his from day 1.
With his technique, and his ability, the only place i see him fitting into the side is up top with Mazakadza

Looks like Burl & Vitori will join the squad replacing Murray, Mavuta & Mpofu. Maybe Williams was the third replacement but his injury as stopped that ?

Burl will likely get a turn in the middle order I’d say
