World Cup Qualifier opponent 3: ZIM V HK March 10 Game Thread

Post by ZIMDOGGY »

I typed the headline thinking they were playing today, but turns out its saturday the 10th, but fuck it, I've come this far, match thread is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

Zimbabweans all over Bulawayo tonight are camping out in the front of Queens Sports Club in order to get ahead of the queue and secure their tickets to this crucial qualifier in terms of NRR and batting experimentation.

We will find out if Sean Williams returns to the team, same with Kyle Jarvis, and maybe even Mr Chisoro.

The Hong konganese are fighting for their tournament life, their dreams, hopes and the cricket cash to feed their families Sweet and Sour pork w/ rice for years to come.

For this to happen, the team will need to summon the spirit of Xiezhi to overcome the all round power of Raza,Taylor and co, and will need a little more than a powerful fortune cookie to do so if the zim paceman dont make it look as if the HK batsman are using chopsticks for bats.

Weather forecast shows periodic storms, so although raining cats and dogs might be seen as lunch for one team, for the other, it could mean a squandered chance to up the NRR should it interrupt play.

This game has the least amount of relevance of all our matches if we lose or it gets washed out or we win it won’t make a difference if we beat Scotland this game is irrelevant

Hopefully Williams plays and gets some time in the middle

Assuming HK don't upset Afghanistan today.

What if hong kong wins today then its very relevant. 105-4 now. If they can somehow eek out another 100 runs i would back afghanistsn to lose.

True. The Afghans could fail to chase 200 against even Nepal or PNG's crap bowling. They will be in trouble if they can't bundle HK out for around 150-175.

200-6 with 3.3 overs left. Will afghanistan choke in the chase?

It looks like they choked with 3.3 overs left. HK got to 240+!
