Very happy to see Afghans knocked out. They deserve that as they were too overconfident. Moreover they got the test status too early. Zimbabwe should not depend on associates for qualifying WC and I m sure they will easily beat the teams in super6. @Eugene, you are most welcome to Incredible India!

Then when there is denial, or their actions are excused, or flipped back on the aforementioned big sector I mentioned for saying so out loud (all this is where the left wing liberals go totally wrong) the natural reaction from this sector is more anger that manifests into hatred and racism.
But haven't you done the same thing here? Made an excuse for racism? The other fact is, that it was racist "big sector" that allowed the refugee crisis in the first place. The refugees are fleeing mainly from terrorists who only arrived there due to the vacuum created by the aftermath of the 2003 Iraq War. The leaders of pretty much every Muslim country, plus a whole host of European countries warned against the destabilization of such a war, but 15 years on, and the place is even more of a mess than it was before.

Apart from that, climate change is going to be another factor that will create mass refugee crises in the decades to come. This time not from war or violence, but from deforestation, desertification, drought, and famine. Unfortunately, the only place to go is Europe because North America is too inaccessible.

At the same time, China is rising as the next global powerhouse, and their policies will be even worse and will likely exacerbate things.

Be much happier when Hong Kong beat Nepal and confirm it.

Been seeing their fans comments on the Facebook pages, my word, some of them cannot take jokes and get very over sensitive. So many vile comments.

There’s some truth to what you are saying but it’s realky lose/lose.
Afghanistan for example, troops are still present in almost a peacekeeping fashion.
I have read that the reason they are there is to stop th taliban taking hold because when they do, the refugees crisis out of Afghanistan will be unreal.

In Iraq, Saddam was pursuing weapons of war and was a security threat, but even if he wasn’t, he was acting like a hard dictator and hurting his own people at will. Again it’s lose/lose.

As much as I hated the naive power vacuum created in Syria (thanks Democrats) it was also lose/lose.

Why do these middle eastern countries fill with fundies as soon as there is an opportunity?

This is what kills me.
Why is the option for a Syrian (or middle eastern) refugee ONLY Europe in the absence of North AMERICA?

Why not other middle eastern countries? Why not Asia?
Why is the white western countries the default?
Muslims seem to hate/have issues with these places yet it’s the usual destination when they can make it happen.

There is no question that Muslims by and large are so adamant on the wonders of Islam. Then why do they not passionately pursue migration and asylum in largely Muslim countries?

I find it so weird.

And on that note, why are East Asian countries neve pressures to take in refugees?
When people talk about privilege, why are East Asians never talked about? In the USA they make more money than the whites

At the end of the day it’s the Americans thinking they’re saving the day but having no knowledge of local customs and expecting the locals to be steam rolled and to be grateful. They destroyed Libya and have left a smoking ruin. Iraq even worse, Syria and Afghanistan. In hindsight no intervention was infinitely better. But they will never stop interfering where there’s money to be made. Stable dictatorships in these regions would have been infinitely better than the monumental humanitarian crises that have unfolded. Sometimes their intentions are good, but usually financially and politically motivated, and they’ve never done the job properly, they just pack up and ship out when the mess is too big to fix.

Had Europe refused to take the refugees the neighbouring countries would have stopped them entering their borders with force. The povo will always be pawns in a much bigger game.

I disagree, they just linger and linger until no ones happy.

Why not other middle eastern countries?
Actually, of an estimated 5.5 to 6 million Syrian refugees, the vast majority are in rhe middle east/ Turkey:

Turkey – 3 million Syrian refugees are currently in Turkey.
Lebanon – 1 million Syrian refugees are currently in Lebanon.
Jordan – 660,000 Syrian refugees are currently in Jordan.
Iraq – 242,000 Syrian refugees are currently in Iraq.
Egypt – 122,000 Syrian refugees are currently in Egypt.
Peterhouse U14C 4th change bowler and no. 10 batsman (but only because Aaron didn't have a bat).
