Mountaineers v Midwest Rhinos
Mutare Sports Club, 10 April 2010
...and a bad start for Rhinos, who have been bowled out for 144 (35.5 overs; Chapungu 27, Utseya 3/24) after having been put in to bat by Mountaineers. Uphill battle for Rhinos from here if they're to take the title...

Mountaineers 64/6 after 12.4 overs. They're ahead on run rate, but losing wickets at that rate... Rhinos could win this yet...

Wonderful partnership from S.Masakadza and Utseya, pressure was right on. Maybe Sibanda will regret not holding Rainsford (who is pressing hard for an international recall) and Cremer back for a couple of overs each...

Geez the if stastics of Rainsford wuld juss tell yu more about his perfomance. The young man was top off the shelf in his game.Think he wil be gettin a national team call up,believe me i was there.I loved the battles between him and Hamilton Masakadza.Cremer was good with the ball again as usual, everbecoming more dangerous by the day.Chatara had some pace but needed some control with extras.

I think the disease of top order collapses is originating from the franchises then spilling into the national team, look at mountaineers and rhinos yesterday.wat do u think is the cause n wat can be done about it

I am wondering why Rainsford is not being picked fo the national team.He would have been magical with the ball.I wonder if teams can add a player after they have announced their squads fo the T20 WC.I think ZC is wasting resources on some talent show ,we already have our guys all they need is drilling n sharpening

Very puzzling indeed. Whole world took notice of the man in CWC 2007, then the whole Sri Lankan team was full of praise for the young man, and still, we dont see him anywhere near the national squad. How can he not catch the eye of Streak and Co.?
We have left our best bowler and best batsman (when they are not injured) back in Zim while making the WI trip for T20 WC. Doesn't sound very encouraging.

Williams (who I assume you are referring to) is far from the best batsman in T20. Did you not watch the domestic tournament? He made a few runs, although no match winning efforts, and really struggled to score at anything better than a run a ball. Neither has been anything approaching prolific in the other formats this season, as well as having a significant cloud over his fitness. He remains a good prospect, but at the moment couldn't be considered anything other than a marginal choice for T20.

I think it's fair to say that Sean Williams isn't a T20 specialist, therefore i'm not that disapointed of his exclusion from the World Cup Squad. However, i was very disapointed that he didn't make the West Indies tour, his grit and determination (not to mention the quality he posesses) was dearly missed and it became more and more aparent as the series went on
Sean has to be around the national team in the future, as he's probably the most techniquely sound batsmen in the country (perhaps next to Tatenda Taibu)
