The equation for progression to WC with only one more win (unlikely)

Post by ZIMDOGGY »

Here is the non rain affected pie in the sky situation scenario where we can qualify if we only win one more game against the UAE and drop the WI and Irish games.

AFG V IRE=Winner AFG
Afg v UAE= Winner either, but afg my be better as they will bring their motivation to next game and UAE spirit will be killed by the last game.
Sco v IRE=Winner SCO
SCO V WI=Winner WI
WI V AFG=Winner WI
UAE V ZIM=Winner ZIM (Huge win)
UAE V SCO=Winner UAE

This will give a table of
WI=10
Zim=5
SCO=5
IRE= 4
AFG=4
UAE=2

At least it's possible. It's going to be a tough 2 weeks. I think the best thing that happened was Afghanistan qualifying. Gives us an extra player on our side as far as I'm concerned. Hong Kong would have been rolled over

Worth repeating- that one point from yesterday and the Ireland Afghanistan game on the 23rd with Afghanistan probably only playing for pride or worse, to make some money, may well come to bite us.

Zimbabwe are in a tricky spot, but not a bad spot. But right now, only the West Indies can genuinely think "yeah, we're almost done". And they are as unpredictable as any other side really. Zimbabwe actually has the edge against them (WI haven't won either of their last 2 games vs ZIM).

Do I think it will be easy? No. Am I rooting for ZIM? No. Do I think ZIM can make it? They've got every chance to qualify!

Yesterday's point shouldn't make a difference as long as we beat Ireland.

If not..we don't deserve to be in WC

It' not accurate your calculation as you have missed out Ireland having to beat us. Unless you assume that match is washed out.
