[Match Thread] Zimbabwe v West Indies HSC

Post by sloandog »

Pretty simple really. We win, we go to England '19, we lose, things get tense.

Time for the batters to step up. Can't expect Raza and BT to bail us out match after match. Hope Chatara comes back in for Blessing.

Yeah the batting must improve I think the guys needs to identify what is a good score on a the pitch they're batting on and realise we don't need to score 300 every innings. Also once we lose an early wicket or two we need to be able to change our approach, the key to getting a big ODI total has always been to have wickets in hand for the last 20 overs, we always seem to spend our wickets before then.

Watching Andy Balbirnie's innings last night I'd love to see BT or Hami take on that role of the side and solidify one end and let others score around you. If BT scores a 130 ball century the others around him can play their natural games like the O'Brien brothers did and we will end up with a good total.

Yeah you would think only change is Chatara for Blessing or KJ although knowing we have two bites at the cherry if Larry isn't 100% they might save him for the UAE match. I wonder if they will be tempted to open the bowling with Raza considering the Windies top 3 are all lefties

This is going to be a cracker of match! On form, ZIM are slight favorites.

If anyone has access to sportsbet Id jump on that shit right now.

Ervine is paying 10:1 to top score. Pretty much an error since Richard Ngaravara is listed at 8:1

Raza great value at 6:1

Even Taylor I'd argue is well priced at 4.5:1

Chisoro is 81:1

Dear Zim,

Please do me a favour and win tonight so I can rest easy, and I'll be on a plane to Eastern Europe Friday and wont catch the second half of the UAE match and I'd rather not be freaking out about that match. I get nervous in planes as is.

I think Zimbabwe have a good chance at winning this, but we are going to need more runs. Time for the Ervinator!

Ervine actually looked really good against Ireland until he was run-out

I'd be moving him back up the order the best way to avoid is stop it before it starts

We could open with Hami move Mire down to 7 and Ervine back to 3 or 4

He also has a very good record v Windies averaging 54 http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... pe=batting

at 10:1 nows the time to back him. Absurd.

On another note, looks like there's some rain about Harare today.

The closer this gets, the more the nerves get. Especially as I am stocked up on food for this. Creme Soda, Thingz, and Biltong all good to go. Will miss the beginning because of work, so let's hope we get off to good start.
