Left it too late. Start was very sedate (albeit vs some very good bowling) our bowling didn't help also 20 runs of the last 2 UAE overs.

Disheartened.

I hope you guys are happy with PJs 39 off 60. In a 40 over game. Was he your hero? What a bloody joke. I didn't say anything through out the whole game. But if you believe that was the right call to bring in PJ. You are a lunatic. 39 runs having taken 25% of the deliveries bowled. What a bloody joke
If it was zhuwao, it would have been 4 down instead of 3 down with a god partnership
Well congratulations you still got your wish didn't You? You brought in a guy to play a test innings in a 40 over game. This hate for Zhuwao is shocking. Mire was playing shocking cricket for 5 straight games and you didn't say anything. Let him play today and he did so much better than Zhuwao right?
Well, moor did play well today. You can't blame him for others losing their heads in a manageable chase of 8 runs an over for 20 overs.

Ervine would have been the better choice than Moor. Ervine can get to 8 runs an over but needs some time to get started. Moor was probably never going to get to 8 runs an over no matter how long he stayed out there. Raza and Williams really should have seen us home, both their wickets were needless.

Don't know how many times I've consistently argued asking Craig Ervine to play in ODIs is pointless.

Not his fault, thought, the fault is with people who selected him, and left out Cephas Zhuwao today. At least we wouldn't have died wondering.

PJ Moor was alright but had Ervine batted at three, as he should have, and Peter Moor finished the match after Raza departed, we would have won it. Its not even hindsight.Terrible decision making from management.

So disappointing.

Never felt this bad in years of supporting Zimbabwe. A really low point was getting blanked in Bangladesh not too many months ago but that is attributable to the coaching insanity even before we landed in Bangladesh. Did not feel this bad when we were shot out of the park by Gayle a few days back when we thought we had a chance against the WI. It was sheer bad luck that he woke up.

Today, sitting and watching the entire game, made me cry in the end, made me sick when Williams got out. The expectation of a win and the boys giving us hope for 85 overs and falling apart was too much to accept.

Two major turning points being the brainless shot of Hammy and insanely soft dismissal of Williams. And I'm ashamed I'm a fan of both. None of Raza, Ervine or Mire did any better but those guys had it in them to win it for us and threw it away. Taylor has a definite technical glitch there and paid the price but my heart was sinking watching Ervine bat soon after Williams' dismissal. Every ball Ervine played and missed and hit straight to the fielder and just went clueless in a matter of seconds after Williams got out, before eating up a lot of deliveries and getting out in front of a brave Chigumbura was the most soul wrenching experience to watch. It will take weeks to recover from this.

This after selecting the best side possible. Executing the first half to perfection - the half that had not worked so well in the tournament - and to throw it all away. Is it some cruel joke on us? Why the hell do you guys give us hope? Why?
Had written so much when we finally bowed out of CWC 2015 in that very winnable match against Pak. Not many words today. So much of that still holds. And hurts even more.

Scoring 39 runs in 10 overs out of 40 is not playing well in the context of the game. We had batsmen left. That's where the scoreboard pressure came from. The numbers don't lie. He left.it too late and his strike rotation is poor. There is no need to for me to be diplomatic and not tell the truth anymore. That was not an inspired switch by the selection team taking out someone who could have gotten those runs in 4 overs compared to 10 by PJ.

As you saw I clearly said there are 3 favourites. Mire being one of them. Look at his stats throughout the whole tournament. He could have easily been dropped as well for PJ but nobody would.have dared to do that

Don't even know why I follow Zimbabwe Cricket.
I think it was the love of the older teams from the late 90's and early noughties which give me the enthusiasm.
I'm not going to hate on our batters too much here. Ervine came in during a really tough situation, and Moor hasn't played any cricket since Bangladesh. Williams batted brilliantly and he needs to be commended for that, but ultimately, we bowled shit.
Our bowlers with the new ball were all over the place, bowling mid 70's. What is going on? Seriously. Brendan Taylor has been worth every single penny in this tournament, but what has Kyle Jarvis brought to the table? He's a fantastic bowler, I'm not doubting that, but where has his pace gone? Where's the nip he had at Lancashire gone and why is running in and just topping at crease, instead of flowing through like he used to? It's not working and I wouldn't be against him being dropped now.
I'd rather see Ngarva in, and Mumba when he's back. At least they both have a bit of pace.
Overall, the nation of Zimbabwe will look at this game and think, 'yea, we absolutely screwed that up and have only ourselves to blame'.
SA place at the world cup was there for the taking, on a silver tray with nuts and topping on it. Instead we knock the tray on the floor and then do nothing about it.
So bad.

Think back to that diabolical last over Jarvis bowled when it started raining as well.

In an ideal world Craig (and probably PJ) are Test specialists. A more suited batsmen would've hit at least one of those three full tosses in that last over for six.
