Does this mean the ICC has decided to give the ZC the necessary loans?
Was there an announcement made ?

I don't know, I was wondering that myself. At this point, its hard to tell what is better for ZIM cricket: for ZC to get the loan, or not get it.

I’d only want the debt paid by ICC if trustworthy board was in place, looking at it from an ICC point of view there is no reason to pay the bill because really Zimbabwe brings little to the table tbh.

+1, but how can they be assured of that? Whether there is an overhaul or not, it is difficult to predict the credibility of the ZC board, or any board for that matter, so, ICC most likely would take the less risky route, whatever they feel that is.

In an ideal world, they bring another decent quality cricket playing nation to the table, one with years of history. and that should be good enough reason to do everything to keep cricket going there. Especially after the crowds that thronged the grounds and proved beyond any doubt that there is massive interest towards the game. But for ICC, that's not enough, unfortunately.

If the bill gets paid then they can just go get another loan with the promise of more money coming in. Whilst I don't like the debt burden they are currently under good stewardship needs to be demonstrated before anything big like this should be done.

And yes, I realise the unlikelihood of all that.

I suspect that the bailout is coming. Here it says the decision might be taken in 2 weeks. To me it only makes sense to take money from Zimbabwe's 90 million and pay Metbank to get that over and done with. That interest is killing us

http://www.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe/co ... 38959.html

Last time we turned down the loan Hasnain was the CFO for the ICC and he was very involved. That was Chingoka's board. They refused to restructure now its clear that this board by changing their CFO and making Hasnain their MD they are close to getting that loan. Even if you read a lot of stuff our MD says. He always says ZC's main problem is that debt.

To me this leaves us fans and even the players who know whats going on in a tough position. If the government intervenes and suspends the board they will take legal action and that bailout wont come anytime soon. Whats more important at this stage? Streak and co or that loan?Imagine what that extra 4 or so million can do to our cricket every year.

I think the best strategy might be to use these guys to clear the debt and then when the elections come next year we clear them out. We absolutely make sure the whole nomination and election process is in the media every single day. They cant win a transparent process. We just hope that Hasnain has complete control of our funds until we vote them out

Last time the conditions of the bailout was that the ICC would have a member head the board am I not right ??

I’d expect if there were a bailout coming the ICC would want to know where every single dollar is going

Would be interesting to see what can be done with the game if

A) The debt is gone

B) ICC are in control of the board

C) Money is used wisely

This tri series will cost $2.5m to host. I don't see Australia coming!

I don’t agree. These guys must go now. They’re the problem.
