Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
There were a few where it was said a letter was going around supporting the new board that the black players would't sign, but Raza and the white players would.
It could be a load of garbage but it wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

Mlotshwa cannot be a saint. He operates in an environment with no accountability. None of them have a clean slate, but he’s by far and away the lesser of the two evils. That SRC board has some good people on it and the ZC board they’ve appointed ticks most boxes. What remains to be seen is if they will be allowed to do what they want and what is necessary. We wait to see.
My fear is what ICC will do next week. Assuming that is ok, then my next fear is how people will react to the changes they make and then what happens when their one year tenure is up.
From a personal point of view I just want to see the back of these guys and first prize is to try and recover some of the missing funds and to prosecute where possible. It would be an injustice if people just get off scot free.
If not they become very vocal critics, but they’re the wrong sort. With some whites in admin there will be no shortage of critics anyway, but we don’t need guys who’ve been wrestled from the cookie jar because their criticisms will be designed to damage.

Ok I haven’t seen or heard anything about that, but as usual I do have an opinion.
Yes it’s entirely possible that a lot of cricketers won’t buy into the new dispensation. You’re dealing with a generation of cricketers and people that have been indoctrinated with “white is bad.” Don’t forget there is some frantic lobbying happening and people are being told that “the whites are taking over, all we’ve fought for, all the gains we’ve made etc is for nothing”
There are some very pliable cricketers as we’ve painfully seen by their inability to stick together. Also don’t forget that some of the dead wood are the older guys and that’s a problem.

If Old ZC tell everyone that new ZC is going to a 3 franchise system and that maybe 5 whites are coming back and some black youngsters are going to get a gig they will do the math and see that at least one third of them are done who’s going to support that? There are no jobs out there and they’re used to a bloated system where a lot of people just subsist. It’s how the entire country survives. They know that there are a lot of decisions coming that will have poor consequences for them.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
ZC was essentially a mirror of how gov operates. It works in as much as people become reliant and pliable. It keeps the big dogs in power and everyone else on their knees.
You hear the ZC staff always complaining about ZC, but it’s half hearted and they never actually name the culprit or culprits, it’s just a faceless corporate entity that they’re whining about under their breath.

This isn't just a cricket thing- its' a zimbabwe thing. It's well known that after 2004 when the racist behaviour got rid of the majority of the team others saw their opportunity as 2nd class players to become national players and earn bucks.f Old ZC tell everyone that new ZC is going to a 3 franchise system and that maybe 5 whites are coming back and some black youngsters are going to get a gig they will do the math and see that at least one third of them are done who’s going to support that? Same with franchise system-70% shouldn't be in a club 1st team let alone a franchise but with the scaring away the smart independent thinking asians, blacks and whites there is a huge hole for mediocre to step in and get paid. Opportunistic -they take it with both hands.
Just before the 2013 elections the zim population was terrified that MDC would win-WHy ? Because the smarter Zimbos would flood back to the country knocking out the mediocre businesses/farmers that only got to that stage by default and/or getting into bed with zanu. This is the case with ZC---
the likes of the older players such as LT/Ham will want to ride the gravy train longer-the youngsters trying to fit in to the system do NOT want any threat to the system which has overseas players being introduced to the squad!
Then of course the allegiances being offered to them----you will be picked for the team. Once we have control we will pay you lots of dosh.....
The low down and middle management either have their hands in the pot or are incompetent and will be replaced so they will be against change...you just need to look at Nokothula the matabeleland South administrator who has never played cricket and was the secretary to staddon before being made cricket administrator for a province!!!
Its these people that will fight tooth and nail: the pseudopatriots.
Re: #ZCBOARD MUST GO
Yep that’s 100% correct.
It’s why you need someone like Mlotshawa. Whilst ED is at the helm Gerald has all the power he needs to squash these trouble makers. This won’t be a clean fight. The problem with Gerald is he’s got a lot on his plate. Frank Makoni has rattled his cage big time though, so he will hopefully be paying close attention.
The new board have to be very careful how they restructure our cricket. The players’ opinions will initially dictate if this gains traction. You might actually see the first real stayaway and for all the wrong reasons. It’s a step by step process.
Getting rid of the middle management incompetent thieves is the first step, but as you say these guys do have support from some of the cricketers who wouldn’t be there were it not for them.
It’s a multi-layered cake of intrigue and back scratching worthy of a budget soap.

Can't say I'm surprised by this. It's obvious to see that some of these guys are stealing a living. Don't really care about their performances or the teams, or the state of the game. They want their pay cheque without the effort.brmtaylor.com admin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 7:49 amThere were a few where it was said a letter was going around supporting the new board that the black players would't sign, but Raza and the white players would.

I like that term- pseudo patriots. It’s bang on. The only real “patriots” are the ones who haven’t made it to the cookie jar yet. It all appears to have been a hoax to get hands on moolah. Our country is rotten to the core. Without an independent judiciary, police, and military there can never be accountability.

What will there be left to restructure? If the ICC cut the money, why would anyone stick around?Googly wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 8:55 amYep that’s 100% correct.
