i was thinking about this today, its only a thought of mine-what does everyone think.

Its about Craig ervine, most famous for being Seans younger brother and towards the end of this thread on ZCF: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1380.


Anyway,
The theory i have is based on the fact this guy is actually performing well and could do big things for us. He has slipped under the radar to me for the most part but how is this for a theory.

Craig ervine performs well in the T20 and becomes a star.

He then
either goes to england
or
stays in zim.

then:

the lure of playing side by side with his own baby brother lures sean ervine back into the zimbbabwe team.

Then we have sean and Craig playing our middle order, gaining experience and talent.

Like the flowers, they bond extremely well and have many good partnerships and bring Zimbabwe back to the world stage. This tempts others to come back/stay in Zimbabwe.

Craig Ervine could trigger the events that lead to zimbabwe being the greatest team in the world.

Dead right Zim, especially with regards to his brother. I was going to say it some other time but I had the slightest suspicion Ervine had been picked with other thoughts in mind.

Because strictly speaking if form or statistics in the domestic T20 and Logan Cup was anything to go by, as evidenced by most selections so far, there were about two batsmen ahead of him in that queue.

But with the knowledge that he had the alternatives of England? or Ireland, and the frustrations four years ago when he could have made his debut in a much weaker team, the selectors thought to tie him down very quickly and use him as a lure as well for Sean Ervine

Luckily he's already taken to international cricket like a duck to water. Indeed, I'm not complaining. Well played Alaistair

DOGGY I could not agree with you more. I, like Conant, was going to mention it some time ago but decided to keep it to myself since anything can happen in Zimbabwean Cricket ! If Craig does indeed turn out to be a talented player, that should automatically give older brother Sean the added flavour of playing for us once again. And like you said ZIMDOGGY, having both Sean and Craig Ervine playing for us, and possibly Sean Williams at 3, our middle order looks strong and compact all of a sudden. That could well push guys like Matskinyeri right off the radar, and possibly Charles Coventry too. Brendan Taylor would have to perform on a consistent basis if he wants to keep his place as well. Who else do you think may return to the fold ?? Possibly Travis Friend ?? Tinasche Panyangara ?? Maybe Anthony Ireland........We can only hope ay lads, but that's something we now have, compared to say 3 years ago, when there was nothing but darkness.
