Most people here on the forum know I'm the chairman of the Neville Madziva fan club and have pushed his cause for selection on quite a few occasions, but there really is no argument to be had right now. Madziva's form has totally deserted him in recent times and his numbers in the past two domestic seasons have been poor, alarmingly they seemed to get worse this season despite the low standard of the cricket.
Maybe he grew disillusioned with the game and the selectors after he was frozen out by Streak?? After getting his breakthrough from Mangongo he seemed to peak under the guidance of Dav Whatmore as he won t20 games against Bangladesh and India with bat and ball whilst also ripping apart Afghanistan in Sharjah with the ball. But once Whatmore was gone Streak seemed to favour taller and faster bowlers like Mumba, Ngararva, Mpofu and Blessing resulting in Madziva never getting selected in any squads since.
Maybe now with a new coach Neville might be inspired to get back into form and into the national side.
Interesting fact Madziva has the best average and strike rate of any Zimbabwe ODI bowler obviously his stats are of a small portion but still very interesting.

One of great talent from Zimbabwe who was shaping himself like Dwayne Bravo...very skillfull with the bowl and reliable at the lower order....one could remember his last over spell against the greatest finisher of the one day cricket Dhoni
Re: What happened to Madziva ???
I thought in the context of the July series Madziva was poorly done by to miss out.

Re: What happened to Madziva ???
He looked absolute cannon fodder in the recent domestic set up. Looks like he's put weight on and has lost most of any pace he once had. People need to start looking to Jongwe and Mashinge for future all rounders

Madziva was once a brilliant selection, not anymore. He's very similar in comparison to shingrai maxakadza
