Africa T20 Cup Season 2018

Post by Black Mamba »

Guest Nation raised to 7 : Nigeria, Ghana, Mpumalanga and Limpopo will join Zimbabwe XI, Kenya XI & Namibia XI

Zimbabwe had some good memories in this tournament where they qualified for the final back in 2016 through a system of lucky draw as few important games were abandoned due to rain.

Zimbabwe XI's team selection in this tournament always have given some surprise with the return of some youth players like Malcolm Lake who was once named but later withdrawn. Jeremy Ives, Ryan Murray, Brandon Mavuta, Richard Ngarava impressed in this tournament and got picked for Zimbabwe A

This should be the squad

W Medhevere, T Kamhukunkamwe, J Schadendorf,
T Musakanda (c),R Murray ( wkb), L Roche,B Mavuta, L Jongwe, F Akram, E Musoko, M Nyathi,

Extra : R Ngarava, W Mashinge, R Magarira, G Dollar

Precautionary Measures :

1) Not a single payers should be picked from seasonal failure & selector friends category like Chibhabha, Sibanda, Chigumbura, Nyumbu, Shingi Masakadza, C Mpofu

2) Selecting Cephas Zhuwao & Chari will be a blunder as both of them will look to take this oportunity in bashing Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Ghana, Mpumalanga and Limpopo and will make themselves selectors favourite in upcomming tour of South Africa & Zimbabwe where they will surely fail as both of them proved themselves that they are unfit in facing top teams.

We'll send Moor, Murray, K-long and a few others with international experience and we'll still lose to Ghana and Nigeria. Take it to the bank.

Because we don’t have 22 players that could beat Ghana?

Anyone getting excited about this has accepted that we’re beyond salvation. I foresee a 3 day game against Zambia in our future

I can see Murray, who’s now played international cricket, or Jongwe who’s enjoying life in the UK pulling a hamstring before having to get on a plane to play in Nigeria

Last time we played Kenya
Zhuwao was a world class batsmen
Chibhabha &. Chigumbura were in great form
Chisoro, Magarira & Mavuta were world class bowlers
Even Hondo was deemed a high Quality coach
Just saying
Until Zimbabwe Board or Zimbabwe A squad ..starts touring South Africa, England or India we struck being mediocre every year
Yes the Rising star did welgl but more exposure is needed
Were struck with the Chari, Kaila, Mawoyo & Nyumbu

Luke Jongwe was looking great after that impressive Bangladesh tour & against Afghans in UAE. Strong build, can hit the ball hard and bowl at 140 kph.

Jongwe has been harshely treated by Ntini & Streak, after that disciplinary issue along with Chisoro before the India Series back in 2015
