Playing XI Should be selected by Captain & Coach not the selectors or ZC board members

Post by Stoneman Returns »

Cricket Board job is to organize game in a proper way, look up into the administration and needs of the players.Selectors job is to select a squad by talking with coach and the captain.

In Zimbabwe things are differant, ZC board members and selectors have their go & pressurize captain & coach to feature a particular player they back. Recently, in the qualifiers this happened, when board members pressurized Streak to play Cephas Zuhawao in the playing xi, inspite of his failures. In top cricket nations, as well as upcomming cricket nations like Afghanistan, Ireland, Coach and the Captain has the final word in selecting playing xi, board members & selectors aren't allow to take part in such matters, as it affects the morality of the coach and other players.

Success of Rajput will depend on how much free environment ZC will give him in expressing his ideas and his decisions.BCCI gave him free to express himself when he was World T20 winning coach and one of his surprising decision came was in the final when Rajput & Dhoni handed over debut cap to Yusuf Pathan and send him to open the batting, in place of Shewag that too in the final in a high voltage game against Pakistan.

Graeme Cremer just had a knee surgery and as such is out of the SA and Bangladesh Limited overs series, he hopes that he can be fit in time for the Bangla tests though. A mighty blow for us as we are bowler-less

Selection panel should only select the best 15 squad and let the technical staff , captain & vice captain choice the starting X1...
Anyway who is the vice captain to Hami
Let's hope BT or Sean William should be appointed because Hamilton Masakadza has been a disappointment

There does need to be at least one independent selector to monitor the Logan Cup and the Diaspora.

In particularly the Diaspora. There are Zimbo's scattered about quietly achieving that could make the jump.

Once the 15 is selected, leave it to the coach and skipper.
