It would be interesting to know what Raza got paid for the Canada gig. A contractual obligation is a two way street.
These guys that get contracts should at least get together and insert a couple of clauses that have punitive measures against ZC in the event of late payment of salaries, match fees etc. It’s despicable that admin get paid big salaries on time when the cricketers themselves are forced to wait for their money.
I think it should go a step further and there should be a tie up with the FC guys. Our cricket is dependent upon the continuity of the franchise games here. There’s such a gap between the standard of the international and our franchise cricket that once guys get into our main side there’s a tendency for them to wash their hands of the local cricket and the plight of their fellow cricketers.

This chef mentality of the Boards has to end. They are custodians of our game and they should have an obligation to put the needs of the players before their own. There’s so little to do that most of them probably need to work a one day week anyway. They’re despicable people. They see no wrong in what they do and their hard line stance against Raza when they’ve let us down for many years is disgraceful. You can talk to any one of these guys and they blame ZC and the universe in general as if they’re not a part of the problem.
Let’s find a board that are prepared to work pro bono and then you know you have the right personnel. There are good people out there prepared to do that.
I heard Mukhulani say this was a hobby for him! Find a new hobby, my friend, you are monumentally shit at this one.

However, ZC left the door open for Raza to return to the national team. "Players without central contracts - and Raza is now one of them - are always considered for national duty at the discretion of the National Selection Panel that also looks at several factors before picking a player."

The fact remains he’s not playing against SA or Bangladesh. When is the next game after that?
If for example Solly decides it’s more lucrative to not be centrally contracted to avail himself of possible T20 gigs then we’ve lost three top players. We just can’t afford that mentality to creep in.
The difference is Raza has options and is a free spirit. Although it sounds like what he did was pushing the boundaries they simply cannot afford to let him go. They’re terrified that if they allow him to get away with this others may follow suit. Well let me be the bearer of bad news, that’s happened already and that will continue for as long as ZC’s House is not in order. Good players will always weigh up their options first and that’s a poor state of affairs. At present ZC know that if a player opts for Zim cricket he’s out of options and he’s captured and can be treated like a mombe.

Latest update. Raza had a meeting with ZC chairman.

Maybe ZC can hand over 19 of the cheaper cars to those centrally contracted players who catch a commuter to work?

I remember many years ago national players had cars with their names on the side.

Raza tweeted he has spoke to the chairman and he’s happy with the outcome.

Honestly this punishment is way too severe I think missing the 6 games in South Africa is plenty, should be available for the BD tour.

We’re going to be fucked without Cremer & Raza over there, especially Raza he’s our only spinner who can turn it away from their lefties.

Looks like he might play in SA. How many games have our boys played since the qualifiers? Raza might be the only guy with game time.

Where did you see that??

Zimbabwe has played 5 ODI’s & 4 t20’s since the qualifiers so not a great deal of cricket.

We always go into these tours underdone, we should be asking for warm up matches or organise a series against an associate to get the boys some time in the middle.
