The mini strikes are all they’ve got to get paid. If they kept playing ZC would happily not pay them at all.
The sad part is that they don’t have the spine to unify and have a complete shut out until they replaced the Boards.

If this was a proper corporate the workers would have become militant a long time ago and the trade unions would have gone mad. It just shows the potency of the Board and the chef mentality that exists in our country.

This Croco Motors tiff with ZC has potential to escalate.
The board refused to return their corporate boxes and now this vehicle issue, I’m not sure which came first though. If this was unknown to the ICC it’s not going to end well.

They’re going to have to factor that debt as well, if they haven’t already, because that’s a lot of money.

Rumour has it Cremer was denied a NOC for the CPL as well. Thats why he didnt go. With the Afghanistan t20 league around the same time as our tours we will probably see a number of guys without central contracts picking that tournament over national duty

And just like that I found proof about Cremer and the CPL

http://www.sundaynews.co.zw/raza-to-be- ... desh-tour/

If its true that BT and Cremer accepted not being given NOCs then Raza's situation get a little bit tricky. Im sure they will sort it out though. There was always going to be backlash with those strikes. They are using Raza as an example of what happens when "you dont tow the line". Bringing up his citizenship issues is just petty

At the end of the day this is all that happens when you get into petty squabbles with your star players.

Sort of the same thing in Oz 20 years ago when Rugby Union was still popular and the average NRL player wasn’t on 400 AUD a yer like they are now. NRL players could just leverage going to Union as a way to get out of honouring contracts.
That dries up quicksmart when the salary cap rose and union faded off, but that’s not the point. Point being is if you start taking controversial stances, players vote with their feet.
Cricinfo profile of the 'James Bond' of cricket:

FULL NAME: Angus James Mackay
BORN: 13 June 1967, Harare
KNOWN AS: Gus Mackay

'The' Gus Mackay.

Hero.
Sportsman.
Artist.
Player.

Why ZC refused NOC in first place? You can't pay ur employees & behave with them as they are Servant.

The difference being that our guys don't really care about that. The moment you try to leverage against them, they will turn on you and tell you to bugger off, they will get one of their buddies to play and only have to pay them with a lunch.

ZC does not care about the greater good of the game, but only of their own egos and wealth value.
