[Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs South Africa, 2nd ODI
Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs South Africa, 2nd ODI
Jarvis' delivery stride is looking way too short at the moment. And his launch is even worse. Costing himself a yard, I'd reckon.

Why does this look like a day 5 pitch in a test match? I expected Bloemfontein to be very flat.

Pitch looks tricky KJ bowling well but we need to continue this good start

I've said it once and I'll say it again, Jarvis in 2009/10 is not the same Jarvis of 2018. He literally stops at the wicket, moves his arms quick and then delivers the ball at the best pace he can manage. In years gone by he full on jumped and drove through the crease, pushing his head and body towards the batter, hence that spell in 2009 against Kallis he really rushed him for pace. He clocked 91mph in that spell I watched it live. I think I was posting on here whilst that spell was being shown.
He's become a more economical bowler, but he should be classed as medium pace now, now fast medium

I couldn't tell, but is AC in the commentary box today? I was unsure if he was there with Pollock at the beginning or not

Even with injury and age, I can't see the advantage of stopping so abruptly.sloandog wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:58 amI've said it once and I'll say it again, Jarvis in 2009/10 is not the same Jarvis of 2018. Indeed I agree. He didn't bowl like that before he left in 2013. Obviously the coaches at Lancashire has had some kind of input.Jemisi wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 12:09 pmEven with injury and age, I can't see the advantage of stopping so abruptly.sloandog wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:58 amI've said it once and I'll say it again, Jarvis in 2009/10 is not the same Jarvis of 2018. There's footage of him against the West in the test series of 2013 and his action is really rhythmical and smooth. He clocks in the mid 80's regularly on that spell.
