As for Mire, I have said that him and Hammy are not the best openers we have.
Really?? We have better openers than Hamilton Masakadza???

IMO he is still the best player of the new ball than anyone in the country, BT included.
By a long way.

My take is invest in Moor , Zhuwao & K-LONG as openers
Make Solly 7th or 6th in the batting order & force him to bowl...
Musakanda should be tried as an opener too ...
All rounders made the Zimbabwe cricket of the 90's great- Guy Whittall, Grant Flower, Neil Johnson, Murray Godwin, Paul Strang, Heath Streak& Dirk Viljoen

You all know my stance. I think the youngsters should come in. I feel like Hammy has something to offer, but he just is not playing to the consistency and the quality required. It could be that he plays in too many formats and having the added pressure of captaincy is not helping. Perhaps his role should drop to more of a white ball player and he can open with one of the youngsters like Kamu or PJ. I honestly think PJ would be a fantastic opener or number 3.
