Time to handover captaincy to Sikandar Raza and build new team

Post by Stoneman Returns »

Enough of humiliation, time to build new team with captain & selection panel. Hamilton Masakadza doesnt deserve to be skipper anymore in odis as his over all captaincy record looks terrible

Matches Captained : 17, Loss : 16, No Result - 1

This Should be the Test Squad from now on

Playing XI

H Masakadza
R Burl
C Ervine
B Taylor
S Raza (c)
S Williams
T Tsiga (wkb)
B Mavuta
T Chisoro
K Jarvis
C Mumba

Extra :

P Masvaure
T Musakanda
D Tiripano
E Musoko
R Chakabva

Odis : Playing XI

T Kamunhukamwe
T Tsiga
T Musakanda
B Taylor (wkb)
S Raza ( c)
S Williams
R Murray
D Tiripano
B Mavuta
K Jarvis
T Chatara

Extra

R Burl
P Moor
C Mumba
F Akram
L Roche

Sikandar Raza should be the new captain right from the Bangladesh Series with a new selection panel who has got proper thinking about blooding new talents then going back to the old failures. New Players should be given 20-25 back to back odis & 5-8 tests to prove their worth before making changes.

It will be a great move as he is already a star performer for Zimbabwe and once he earned huge praise for his captaincy in a T20 match against India back in 2015 (being appointed as a stand in captain) which Zimbabwe won
Robo to rule

Doesnt seems any progress Zimbabwe will make under
the leadership of H Masakadza, Chigumbura, Taylor or even Mpofu. Raza's captaincy skills looks aggressive and his mindset reveals he wants to win games.

K Conventry should look into this matter, if Makoni or a Mukuhalani still thinks Raza as a tourist cricketer with Zim nationality.

I would have definitely handed over the captaincy to Sikandar Raza. Raza & Taylor should form the leadership core of the team.

Masakadza, Chigumbura are proven failures. Have some new blood.

Zimbabwe can take inspiration from the Windies. They are another side who have lost so many players to T20 leagues, they were on the verge of getting eliminated in WCQ. Zimbabwe and Scotland ran them so close and now if Windies can challenge India in India, then there is no reason why Zimbabwe can't improve if they keep pushing.

But yes, as I’ve said elsewhere, the middle tier older heads (Elton, chibhabha, etc) need to be replaced by the youngsters.
