my own consipracy theory.
Recently we have had some discussions here on this forum about conspiracy theories and odd team selections (i think we can all agree over the last couple of years some selections have been ludicrous). A post i made in another topic gave me a thought....
Are the sselectors being bribed? threatened?
Does someone like Mstikenyeri or Maruma have powerful friends either high up or thugs on the street or wealthy benefefactors that benefit from putting themselves in the team?
Could it be possible?
There is that one rumour that Maruma was put into bat at number 3 recently to make him look like a fool.
The only reason i can think if thats true is because he was planted in the team against the teams best interest. Bribed/intimidated/influenced selection which obviously the coach and players would hate.
We know for a fact that selections in the past has been political and racially driven, so why not?
This is what i call food for thought.
i had this crazy thought...

LOLest
There is arm twisting at ZC even by the ICC so naturally it will filter down.

Re: i had this crazy thought...
Matsikenyeri must have some incriminating pictures of someone important to keep getting selected. His first few years in the team were due to racial quotas but I don't know why he still makes the team now that racial quotas theoretically don't exist.

Agreed, he's not of international quality, nor has he ever been. We need to move on and blood some of our younger starseugene wrote:Matsikenyeri must have some incriminating pictures of someone important to keep getting selected. Re: i had this crazy thought...
Matsikinyire was once axed from the team for "not converting his 30s to 50s" then he found himself in the team again (Must have threatened to release the "pictures" ) against Bang and he had just been married and he scored 88. A supporter at the ground said that now that he is married he has converted his 30's to 50s so when he has a baby he will convert his 50s to 100s. He gotta go!

only in zimbabwe will a player get selected for his country because his wife had a baby.bayhaus wrote:Matsikinyire was once axed from the team for "not converting his 30s to 50s" then he found himself in the team again (Must have threatened to release the "pictures" ) against Bang and he had just been married and he scored 88. I find it interesting that Matsikenyeri was dropped for not converting 30s into 50s. When does he ever get to 30?

Re: i had this crazy thought...
Im sorry but that is way to harsh on matsikenyeri, in his career for the national team he has won serveral games for us and is very good in the field and provides a decent spin option.sloandog wrote:Agreed, he's not of international quality, nor has he ever been. All the talent is there he just needs to find consistancy. He is only 26 and there is still plenty of time to make a name for himself at national level.
