[Match Thread] Bangladesh v Zimbabwe 2nd ODI
Re: [Match Thread] Bangladesh v Zimbabwe 2nd ODI
This type of pitch just requires you to score as many runs as possible. We dont have world class bowlers. We might as well pack an extra batsman. Don will never get anything out of it. Anything below 300 there is a joke

Watching Shimron Hetmyer's terrific batting against strong Indian bowling, same player who played Under 19 World Cup 2 yrs ago with talented Zimbabwe players like Ives, Snyder, Murray, Keefe, who have now vanished.

Yep, it's not good is it. Then the generaation before that like Kundai Matigmu, Malcolm Lake, Geyle, Musoko and Dylan Higgins. This side could have looked so different, but instead we're still having to play guys like Chigumbura, Nyumbu, Waller and Chibahba as there's nobody else coming through the system.Black Mamba wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 2:10 pmWatching Shimron Hetmyer's terrific batting against strong Indian bowling, same player who played Under 19 World Cup 2 yrs ago with talented Zimbabwe players like Ives, Snyder, Murray, Keefe, who have now vanished.

Are we going to see these guys in the domestic season? Why aren’t they being picked?Black Mamba wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 2:10 pmWatching Shimron Hetmyer's terrific batting against strong Indian bowling, same player who played Under 19 World Cup 2 yrs ago with talented Zimbabwe players like Ives, Snyder, Murray, Keefe, who have now vanished.
Hetmeyer played over 30 domestic games before getting a call-up.

They’re not around. Cricket is not a career option here. They leave the country, go to Uni, get jobs, clean windows...whatever pays more than ZC, which is pretty much anything you can think of. You can’t break into FC etc etc. There is no plan, zero, zip, nada, fekk all.

This is very dissapointing but this is how it is sadly for Zimbabwe. Bangladesh are a very good side, even better at home. Quite impressed by saifuddin, he can be a very good option for Bangladesh at the WC.
Zimbabwe need to try out some youngsters, it is just not working out for them at the moment. The only positive is that at least they are doing good in patches but are not able to sustain tbe good work for longer time. We saw that in RSA and now here too.
1st match having BAN at 139/6, couldn't capitalize, again this game 147/2 but couldn't kick on, in RSA they had proteas at 7 down for 100 something and then allowed Steyn to run away with it.
A few wins will give them comfidence. Raza must be tge captain, I remember a game against India, Raza was brilliant as a captain.

Only a complete spastic will blame a player who only faced 9 deliveries for the entire sides down fallsBlack Mamba wrote: ↑Wed Oct 24, 2018 12:48 pmAn Idiot or an individual with less knowledge of the game can only blame sub continent pitch for not finishing big, as pitches are batsman paradise and are now more batting friendly because of dew, all that need is the talent and will power to perform in this pitches.
I’m not defending Elton or saying he should be in the side but even if he scored at a strike rate of 300 he still would only made 27 which still would have left us short.
Our last 10 overs killed us and then when we bowled we bowled shit and the pitch was playing well

As Zimdoggy said a few years back Zimbabwe making team changes is like shuffling the deck chairs on titanic, the old guys aren’t getting any better and the young guys aren’t up to scratch.
Interesting that during the pre match interview Rajpot told Ed Rainsford that they will be trying to blend some younger guys into the side, he mentioned Tair & Nagarava sonidnsay they’ll both play next match.

God I hope Elton is sent packing and someone young selected in his place. What does Elton even do? He doesn't bat or bowl.

Exactly right Mr Twig these guys aren’t even making themselves available for selection so although I’m happy to blame ZC for just about everything, you can’t pick a guy that doesn’t want to play.
All things being fair and even Ryan Murray has been pretty lucky to be selected for two tours and a home series considering he has played 1 or 2 Logan Cup games.
We need ZC to fix up the domestic setup and make it appealing for these guys to come and play
