[Match Thread] Bangladesh vs Zimbabwe, 2nd Test, Dhaka

Post by brmtaylor.com admin »

Can we hang on for our first series win since Cecil Rhodes led the Pioneer Column XI to a hard fought triumph against the Congo Basin Invitational XI?

Find out tomorrow!

I'm hoping its a flat deck in Mirpur and ZIM win the toss, so that BD only needs to bat once and bat big.

We could really use a 500+ total to break the string of 8 ducks.

Here's a few guys discussing the travesty of the 1st Test:

Why would you want a flat deck? I’m thinking they’ve prepared a turner. The toss is all important.

The Sylhet pitch was a sporting deck and for whatever reason Zimbabwe thrashed us. On a raging turner where no team crosses 225, there is a high chance of it backfiring. It would mean Wellington would be as uplayar as Shakib. That’s dumb as shit when Raza alone outplayed all the BD spinners on his own.

A flat pitch also negates the toss and puts the pressure right back on Zimbabwe to do something they have only done once since readmission and that is to get a 400 score.

Also do we really want to see a 3 day Test match?

Saw some photos of Hamilton bowling in the nets, might mean that they are going for the 8-3 and looking to the part-timers to fill in some overs. Or maybe he does it all the time but doesn't use himself much in games anymore.
