Some really poor batting in both games here.

Only 2 players (Ervine & Musakanda) have scored hundreds in the logan cup this season, we need to see more.

Tuskers batting once again showing its fragility. Mountaineers showing that they have the FC experience to recover from tricky situations.

I am firmly jumping on the bandwagon for national selection for the following two FC legends who have both played club cricket in Ireland.

1) Timmy Maruma
2) Trevor Garwe
Tuskers weren't helped by the inconsistent bounce of the OH pitch, which is why quite a number of batsmen were out lbw or bowled to balls that kept low. Success to Garwe and Mpofu, two experienced bowlers who knew how to exploit these conditions by bowling accurately wicket to wicket.
What was Murray like behind the stumps John? Large number of byes?
I was at HSC myself, but contacted the coaches so I could write a report for ZC. Stuart Matsikenyeri (Eagles) said both keepers did superbly, but with the uneven bounce and especially shooting through low, it was a keeper's nightmare on that pitch.

yes, much poor batting, but those who made runs had to play superbly to do it in the conditions. At OH the problem was very uneven bounce, but great innings today, according to the coach, from Chari (again), Kamu and Chakabva. At HSC the ball was swinging almost freakishly this morning. PJ Moor says he thought it was due to a combination of the overcast weather, quite a strong wind and what he called the false Dukes ball, which swings much more than the Kookaburras that have been used in the past.

Apparantly Vinny Moyo vetoed Ryan Burls selection for the Tuskers
Wow! How will he get any game time now?

And where is Hamilton Masakadza? Hasn't turned out at all this season so far?
Hammy picked up an ankle injury in Bangladesh and I am told he is still struggling quite badly with it.

One could imagine the state of the pitches for a Zimbabwe domestic game wouldn't be that great, probably a directive from the board to make them bowler friendly to help finish up the games quickly.

The Rhinos did themselves no favours playing just the 4 batsman, maybe on a flat deck you could get away with batting Mayavo & Madziva at 5 & 6 but on a tricky deck it wasn't smart.

Once again it shows the balance of the domestic sides isn't quite right.

Thanks for the update John, injuries taking longer as these guys get older is also a problem for our primarily 30+ first team now.

Who’s the resident Tuskers keeper? A bit unfair on him if Murray gets selected for a one off game, but if they want Murray to not consider cricket as a career this would be how to do it. We really need that 5th franchise!
It sounds like Burl is having big problems contractually.

Burl has hardly played any cricket in 9 months.
What's going on? He's played 3 list A games from May 18' and a couple of T20's against the aussies.

Get ready to say goodbye to him , to good of a player not to be playing . Wouldn’t be surprised if he moves away from zim for good .
