Afghanistan are hosting (in India) Ireland for a full tour in late Feb and all through March. They also have 2 Odis vs Scotland in early May (I’ve bought tickets for the first one) and then 2 more in Ireland. So they actually have a decent programme before the WC. If Zimbabwe were to play them it could only be in
late March or April. At least ZC are trying for something though. Thanks for the updates John.

But where’s the money? They’ve received a chunk, spent fuck all on anything tangible that we can see and there’s none left for any form of cricket. Absolutely zero accountability, they do what they like.

This is the thing. All the money is going down the drain with nothing to show for it. AC may have also spent through a bit of money in his time but at least there was some cricket to show for it. ZC are now receiving millions from the ICC and still begging other teams to pay their own way to Zimbabwe. Why does ZC even exist? What do they actually do anymore? How much does this Logan Cup cost to organise? It's not like the players are getting paid big money. This forum could probably afford to bankroll domestic cricket.

Exactly. What is the point of a cricket organisation that doesn't, you know, organise some cricket?

I dont think Vumi Moyo blocked Ryan, Vumi is somebody whom I once heard that they want best players. for the job regardless of where they come from. Why would he single out Ryan?

There was a signed complaint made by Bulawayo cricket board about racist Vumi Moyo wanting "no more whites in tuskers" and "no shonas"
Ryan had no chance.....he's best leaving and going to Ireland or somewhere else.

Burl played for a Rhinos select XI today against Alistair Campbell's High Performance Academy. Will be interesting to see if he turns out for them in the Pro 50.

Yes hopefully we see him in the Pro50, if he opens with Taor it could be a straight shoot out to open the batting against the UAE.

Watch out for some dodgy calling between wickets lol

Burl in the Rhino side today and most certainly not opening, hopefully he fills his boots whatever number he bats which he'll need to do the way Masvaure and Moor are crawling along at the moment, has someone not told them 4 day cricket has finished?

I have been trying to investigate what the situation is regarding Ryan Burl. The Tuskers guys don't seem to know very much, or prefer not to say. But I got some more information from Darlington Majonga, head of ZC media department.

He says Ryan offered his services to all four provinces, but on condition that he opened the batting, no doubt seeing this as almost his only chance of winning a place in the national side. Darlington says they all turned him down because of this condition, claiming they already had a settled opening pair. This may be true of the other three provinces, but is certainly not true for Tuskers, whose tail seems to consist of the five men at the bottom plus the two at the top.

So there must be some other reason why he can't get in with Tuskers - somebody else told me that Vumi Moyo there was blocking him, but didn't know why. Darlington says that ZC has decided to step in and insist that one of the franchises play him, but it's almost too late for Logan Cup now. Perhaps after the Tuskers disaster with the bat against Mountaineers today some sense might be seen.
Ryan Burl opening with who?

Do you know that’s a post from 2019? How do you afford data?
