I’m guessing during the camp we’ll see (well we won’t see it but we might here about it) a ‘probables v possibles’ practice match ?

Probables

Hamilton/Chari
Mire
BT/Regis
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Moor
Tiripano
Mavuta
Jarvis
Chatara

Possibles

Kamunhukamwe
Burl
Kaia
Maruma
Mutumbami
Chigumbura
Muyonga
Chisoro
Mumba
Mpofu
Ngarava

*BT & Hamilton are still injured AFAIK so I highly doubt they would take part.

I think Murray finishes this year so it’s a moot point, although he has to do his articles, but he can do those here. Uni life is great, not worth passing up for cricket here, we might not exist in a few years time. Uni life in SA is almost at an end anyway. My friend’s daughter has just finished at UCT and couldn’t go on campus in the last semester because that’s rock throwing season for those entitled cunts who haven’t bothered to study and know the pass rate for them will be lowered. She had to get lecture notes from the lecturers and watch whatever she could online because the racial abuse and physical danger on campus was a real thing. In a couple of years a South African degree won’t be worth the paper it’s written on. Stellenbosch is considered the last bastion of Afrikanerdom and they’re going to bring it down pretty quickly now. South Africa is burning.

For all the people (everyone0 saying Murray is entitled and should go to Uni.
Why cant he;
a) Play cricket then do uni after

or,
b) Study Part Time and Play Full Time (or a combo of both)?

Alot of footballers do studies during the week to pass the free time.

We are not saying he is entitled, just that he is more talented than those who do get selected.

a) A lot harder to go to uni when you are in your late 30's and try to find a degree to support a family when the cricket you play does not give you the financial support.

b) Similar to point A. There is no money in playing for ZC full time.

Those footballers earn about $20000-45000/wk at a minumum.

Couple of questions for John

How are the injuries to BT & Hamilton coming along? Will they be ready for the 1st ODI?

Also how bad is the injury to Daniel Jakiel?

Thanks in advance

CricketZimbo has tweeted that the 27 man training squad will be trimmed to 15 on Thursday, I thought they might leave the squad a bit bigger to have a look at some guys but this would indicate they're taking this series very seriously and looking at nothing except winning, which is fair enough considering they've lost their last 13 ODI's in a row.

The squad I'm expecting compared to the one I'd pick a fairly similar

Expected Squad

Hamilton
Moor
BT
Ervine
Williams
Raza
Mire
Kamunhukamwe
Maruma
Mavuta
Chisoro
Jarvis
Tiripano
Chatara
Mpofu

Only changes I'd make would be to have a look at Mumba and Ngarava rather than Mpofu and Tiripano, I'd also like to have seen Kaia and Burl but I can't see them being picked ahead of any of those batsman who all pretty much deserve their spots.

Looks like BT will miss the entire series & Hamilton will miss most of it according to Dean DuPlessis

Ervine coming back in spectacular form should cover up for some of thier absence. Him, Raza and Williams have a lot more responsibility this time...

Despite being a low profile series, this is a very important one Zimbabwe along with the ones coming up In next 2-3 months. They cannot afford any more slip ups and absolutely nothing less than series wins against UAE, Netherlands and Ireland across formats will be acceptable.

I'd expect

4-0 ODIs against UAE
2-0 ODIs and 2-0 T20s against NET
2-1 ODIs and 2-1 T20s against IRE
