Why not, there’s no cricket to discuss. Don’t you have any?

Ed Byrom blisters 135 off 76 to win their 50 over final in Perth. They won their T20 final and are off to Adelaide to represent Western Australia in the national final.
This guy has become some player! There are WA players in that side and he makes them look second rate.

He will be in an England shirt within three years.

Don’t forget this is how Pope started, off of a grand winter campaign in Australia. I know there’s the small matter of Eddie doing well in County, but that will come, he’s too good not to shine.

Why would these guys want to waste time representing England when they could represent Zimbabwe?

England starting central red ball contract £600 000 a year, white ball £275 000, plus chance of T20 and 100 contracts plus quadruple the number of international appearances plus a county contract with 20-50 games a season depending on formats selected for. County contracts range from £280000-£100000 a year. Play with and against some of the best players in the world. Secure lucrative endorsements and advertising deals. Ability to retire and live comfortably after a County career and to live well after an international one. Opportunities to play elsewhere in off-season. Make life long friends all over the world.
Vs
Zim central contract of....?
One test every two years against the same opponent.
No games
Almost no chance of being selected for any T20 tournaments
No franchise contracts. Country practically unlivable.
Being treated like a second hand dog unless you’ve been a snitch your whole career.

I dunno, man. I’d be shooting for the moon.

You touched on a point I was going to raise, ie, no games.
I laugh when other, more controversial, forumites(past & present) label Zimbos playing overseas as traitors.
As sure as your butthole faces the ground, the English, Australians & New Zealanders will have packed cricket seasons. And its planned in advance. Your blokes just want to ply their trade in the best available competitions with a degree of security. Call them guns for hire but the Poms have been recruiting from the "empire" since international cricket began. (I laughed when I found out Labuschagne was a Saffer. The Poms must be scratching their heads wondering how he escaped their grasp.) Oh yeah, what's this about a six year plan?

That pink traitor story was dropped long back. Let’s face it, if there was a route out of here for all FC players to play Aussie Club Div 3 cricket during our Southern Hemisphere season at $100 a game and free board and lodging it would look like a lemming migration going over a cliff. It would be a good documentary with an Attenborough voice over. They wouldn’t be back either.
They’d have to turn our FC season into a double wicket competition with Utseya and Masakadza in one team and Makoni and Mukhulani in the other.

I know. I just don’t want to pass up an opportunity to point out how these corrupt inept muppets have systematically plundered and destroyed our cricket.

Just another gentle reminder that aside from the missing millions over the years they’ve just lost us another $4 million and there’s not a whimper from anybody!!!!

I was inboxed last night about the Croco saga.
Apparently they were accessing ZC funds for vehicle imports!! The tiff clearly emanates from either not all the monies being returned or someone didn’t get their commission!!
SRC had this information and chose not to act on it, which proves that they were settling their personal differences, stemming from the Telecel transaction. Clearly an agreement was reached and the whole matter was put quietly to bed. Everyone and everything is corrupt to the core here.
