I haven’t seen Oldknow so not disrespecting the boy, but he should not be there ahead of Murray. What a poor message being sent. He’s been at school in the UK for cricket, but didn’t bat up front in his first season, yet has done fairly well in a couple of trials games he’s had here.
I’ve just spoken to someone that has seen him play, apparently has a very good eye, but technically needs a bit of work and doesn’t like the short ball, not that anyone is too fond of it  , but is pretty decent.
BUT this lad before Murray is not fair.

The game has started and looks like detailed ball by ball updates from ESPNcricinfo
Looks like we have to thank Freeman Chigovera for this again.
Yes, we do, he's a great guy.

Wow this myers Kid can really play. Only 17 too. One for the future if ZC have a discernible youth policy
Yes, he batted really well. He is actually a black guy, apart from an English grandfather who gave him his surname. Very nice, well-mannered guy too, as I spoke to him this morning.

Foster was indeed the reserve umpire; he wants to keep playing, but has also decided to try umpiring as well.

I presume Ryan Murray is not available again due to his final year at Cape Town University.

This is what we all thought until Murray posted on twitter saying he was disappointed not be selected!!!

Maybe you could ask around John to find out what's really going on??

Looking at the match there were a lot of positives regarding the team selection and also some of the performances, but also disappointing for a few guys who missed their chance, that's cricket though these things happen.

Dion Myers looks a good prospect from what I've seen so it was great to see him given a chance, shame the other youngsters Munyonga & Oldknow missed out. The running between wickets has horrendous 3 run-outs and according to the commentary there could have been a few more.

Despite the batting collapse there was some good lower order hitting from Madziva and especially Mumba!!! Shame neither had a good day with the ball though, but good to see with Mumba he could be a good lower order hitter.

Not too worried about the result just happy to have some cricket to talk about
