Head-to-head
Total matches played=45
Zimbabwe won=6
SL won=37
NR=2
At Harare Sports Club
Total matches played=14
Zimbabwe won=2
SL won=12
It can be dubbed as dress rehearsal before the big finals. It may be a dead rubber but there is lot at stake. There are two things to consider- Should we go with the winning combination to keep momentum? or we try our bench strength?
Chamu Chibha
Ed Rainsford
Cusi Sibanda
C Mpofu
These are the four who didnt play in last ODI.Rainsford is the man i will put my money on as Mpofu has been given chance. Rather than trying Mpofu, i would suggest Chigumbura bowling few overs to get back in rhythm. Vusi might not get the nod but we can play Justice if we are kind enough to release Hamilton for his wedding preparations

You've taken the words right out of my mouth, Dr Situ. I was going to post on the other thread, but here we go:
I would rest Masakadza and play Chibhabha. Watch out for this boy!
Rest Raymond Price and play Eddie Rainsford

It would be a great idea to give the bench a run. Rest Hammi, Blggie, Price and give Vusi, Chibhabha and Eddy.

When was the last time we were in such a position when we could say okay lets rest our key players and give the bench a try because we have secured our position in the final? This is a significant development for Zimbabwe!! Whats this about Ham preparing for a wedding????

"I batted with [Brian] Lara when he scored 501. We put on a partnership of 314. I scored 44! I only faced some 70 balls through one whole day. He would hit four, four, six and somehow, miraculously or by some accident, take a single and I would get one ball. Oh, it was great! What did he say to me? 'Just keep batting with me!'" - Commentary on Cricinfo

Lara!!!!!
