Perceptions do take a long time to change. Zimbabwe would need to regularly beat the big teams for 10 years before such results weren't deemed a shock upset. Look at NZ, it has taken 15 years of good performances for the team to be considered a true heavyweight in ODIs and not just a plucky outsider capable of the odd big upset.
