Chigumbura has hit 35 sixes in 33 Twenty20 matches

Northants all-rounder Elton Chigumbura says he is fulfilling a dream by playing in English cricket.

The 24-year-old Zimbabwean joins Northants having captained his country in their home tri-series against Sri Lanka and India.

"It was one of my dreams to play county cricket and finally I'm here," Chigumbura told BBC Look East.

"It's come at the right time. I want to show the counties and the world that the guys in Zimbabwe are competitive."

He added: "I want to improve my cricket and have more success with the club.

Chigumbura wants to enjoy spell

"[Head coach] David Capel says that I should express myself and just play what I know. He's helped me with some technical stuff, and I'm looking forward to working with him.

"Hopefully I won't have to change my style too much. I can play my normal game and enjoy it."

Not a good debut for Chiggs. A diomand duck and 2 overs for 19 runs with an economy rate of 9.50.
Not the T20 debut he hoped for. But it's only T20, he could get a five fer next game :D
